{"id":27241,"date":"2015-11-01T02:25:17","date_gmt":"2015-11-01T07:25:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/watch-halloween-2015-west-hollywood-versus-new-york-city\/"},"modified":"2015-11-01T02:25:17","modified_gmt":"2015-11-01T07:25:17","slug":"watch-halloween-2015-west-hollywood-versus-new-york-city","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/watch-halloween-2015-west-hollywood-versus-new-york-city\/","title":{"rendered":"WATCH: Halloween 2015, West Hollywood Versus New York City"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>WATCH: Halloween 2015, West Hollywood Versus New York City<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Coast to coast and from Maine to the Mexican border, the annual celebration of Halloween featured the customary candy and costumes enjoyed by children of all ages, even the much maligned <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/transgender\/2015\/08\/22\/caitlyn-jenner-halloween-costume-be-sold-retailer\" target=\"_blank\">Caitlyn Jenner corset costume<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Spirit Halloween&rsquo;s $49.99 outfit recreating the <em>I Am Cait <\/em>star&rsquo;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/politics\/transgender\/2015\/06\/01\/vanity-fair-introduces-caitlyn-jenner\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Vanity Fair <\/em>cover portrait <\/a>was the 4th best selling adult costume of the year, according to <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thewrap.com\/caitlyn-jenner-costume-spirit-halloween-sales\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Wrap.&nbsp;<\/a>&nbsp;<\/em>Jenner herself <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/caitlyn-jenner\/2015\/9\/09\/caitlyn-jenner-deadly-crash-transition-regrets-and-halloween-costume-today\" target=\"_blank\">told NBC<\/a> she found it flattering.<\/p>\n<p>But at two venues 3,000 miles apart, you&rsquo;d be hard-pressed to find a store-bought costume of any kind. New York City&rsquo;s annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ibtimes.com\/new-york-city-halloween-parade-2015-live-stream-watch-greenwich-village-march-tv-all-2158488\" target=\"_blank\">Greenwich Village Halloween Parade<\/a> drew thousands of spectators dressed as witches, skeletons, zombies, ghouls, superheroes, pirates, drag queens, cartoon characters, political candidates, butterflies and supersized fruit.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nbcnewyork.com\/news\/local\/Halloween-Parade-NYC-Gets-Even-More-Frightening-339142362.html\" target=\"_blank\">New York TV station WNBC<\/a> reported, the event is open to anyone in a costume and prides itself on its adult, anything-goes spectacle. The march along Sixth Avenue got its start in 1973 when a puppeteer led the first march with just his family.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And across the country, West Hollywood hosted its annual <a href=\"http:\/\/www.latimes.com\/local\/lanow\/la-me-in-halloween-street-party-20151031-story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Halloween Carnaval, <\/a>marking both 30 years since WeHo was incorporated and 40 years since the premiere of the cult classic film, <em>The Rocky Horror Picture Show<\/em>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Tim Curry, star of the movie, was honored as honorary mayor at the WeHo celebration, which was <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=grq0&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">live<\/a> streamed on YouTube. One of the hosts was Willam Belli of RuPaul&rsquo;s Drag Race, and Boy George also made an appearance to the delight of hundreds of thousands of attendees.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Police in both cities maintained a strong presence. WNBC reported the response by the NYPD was in part due to concerns over a threat to police.
