On a very warm morning, at around 10am or thereabouts, I arrived at Castle Park<\/b> in Bristol city centre.<\/p>\n

The park was the gathering place for all people of LGBT lifestyle,<\/b> to come and build up, before the start of the Pride<\/b> march through the city centre.<\/p>\n

Back in the late 1980s while attending college, I had taken photos of college students protesting by going on a march through a city. As it was a long ago, my skills and experience may be rusty, so I decided to get to practise shooting documentary and journalism kind of photographs, to refresh my skills.<\/p>\n

It was at that time, I spotted this one little lonely bubble floating in the air.<\/p>\n

And I decided to have a go trying to capture it. See if I can get my camera<\/a> to focus on it, and if I can take a shot of it.<\/p>\n

It could be useful to check my camera<\/a>\u2019s auto-focusing system as my camera<\/a> is like about 15 years old (or thereabouts), and I need to know if I\u2019ve got the right AF settings turned on.<\/p>\n

So there it is, I tried my best to focus on it, and capture it. I think it\u2019s a little out of focus, but it was the best I could manage.<\/p>\n

After that, I continued to take photos of the gathering, before the start of the march.<\/p>\n

About the event.<\/u><\/b><\/p>\n

Bristol Pride<\/b> is an annual festival held over couple<\/a> of weeks, promoting equality for the various LGBT+ people, with a march through the city at a weekend.<\/p>\n

The Bristol Pride started life in 1977 as a fundraiser for the local LGBT community, and evolved into an annual event held every year. There was a gap of only some years between 1994 to 2010 when it was restarted.<\/p>\n

The 2022 march started at Castle Park, near Castle Street. The route took them past Cabot Circus, and went around the major shopping area by using The Horsefair and Union Street, and as they went down Union Street, they headed towards Castle Park. When they reached Castle Park, they turned into Wine Street, went into High Street, and into Baldwin Street, headed towards the A38 which is Anchor Road. This route took them into Canon\u2019s Road, and ended up near the Bristol Aquarium. <\/p>\n

The march was said to take about an hour, but as a photographer whom would go back and forth, up and down the line, looking for good shots, it took me at least a couple<\/a> of hours to complete the route.<\/p>\n

After the march, those whom bought tickets, can attend an evening musical festival at The Downs, approximately to the north-west of city centre. I did not attend this event, and by the time I got back to my friend\u2019s home, I was worn out from the heat.<\/p>\n
