Twenty-two year old trans<\/a> woman<\/a> Keisha Jenkins was attacked by a group of five to six men<\/a> in Philadelphia<\/a> yesterday morning before being fatally shot in the back<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n Police are treating the case as a homicide rather than a hate crime. However, a Philadelphia Police Department spokeswoman said that could change as the investigation continues.<\/span><\/p>\n #KeishaJenkins<\/a> #SayHerName<\/a> Rest in peace, Sister.<\/p>\n — WordsOnIce (@WordsOnIce) October 7, 2015<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Jenkins is one of at least 16 trans<\/a> woman<\/a> of color who have been reportedly killed<\/a> in the U.S. this year.
