{"id":25823,"date":"2015-09-28T18:25:09","date_gmt":"2015-09-28T22:25:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/gay-teen-suspended-from-catholic-school-after-not-attending-dance\/"},"modified":"2015-09-28T18:25:09","modified_gmt":"2015-09-28T22:25:09","slug":"gay-teen-suspended-from-catholic-school-after-not-attending-dance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/gay-teen-suspended-from-catholic-school-after-not-attending-dance\/","title":{"rendered":"Gay Teen Suspended From Catholic School After Not Attending Dance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Gay Teen Suspended From Catholic School After Not Attending Dance<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Lance Sanderson, the <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a> senior at Christian Brothers High School in Memphis, Tenn., just can&#8217;t catch a break.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>After being told last year that he could bring a same-<a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">sex<\/a> date to the homecoming dance at his all-<a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">boys<\/a> Catholic high school this month, another administrator reversed course and told Sanderson that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/youth\/2015\/9\/24\/student-fights-catholic-schools-ban-same-sex-dates\" target=\"_blank\">bringing another boy to the dance was not allowed for &#8220;logistical reasons.&#8221;<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Despite a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.change.org\/p\/christian-brothers-high-school-let-lance-take-his-date-to-homecoming\" target=\"_blank\">Change.org petition<\/a> with more than 23,000 signatures demanding that the Catholic school <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/LetLanceDance?src=hash\" target=\"_blank\">#LetLanceDance<\/a>, and the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towleroad.com\/2015\/09\/alumni-rally-to-support-tn-gay-student-banned-from-inviting-male-date-to-homecoming-dance-video\/\" target=\"_blank\">support of alumni<\/a>, who rallied for Sanderson&#8217;s right to bring his same-<a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">sex<\/a> date over the weekend, the Christian Brothers administration wouldn&#8217;t budge. So Sanderson didn&#8217;t attend his senior year homecoming dance &mdash; with or without a date. He just stayed home.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>But when he went back to school today, he was told that he was suspended for a week, reports Logo&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newnownext.com\/breaking-lance-sanderson-suspended-from-school-following-attempt-to-bring-same-sex-date-to-homecoming\/09\/2015\/?xrs=synd_twitter_nnn\" target=\"_blank\"><em>NewNowNext<\/em><\/a><em>. <\/em>Although it appears that Sanderson was not given formal documentation of his suspension, <em>NewNowNext<\/em> reports that administrators told Sanderson the school did not &#8220;appreciate the unwanted publicity&#8221; that Sanderson&#8217;s story has garnered.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;I am disappointed that I am unable to sit in class today,&#8221; Sanderson told <em>NewNowNext.<\/em> &#8220;While many assignments can be reached online, I was going to take two tests today and an in-class timed essay. Tomorrow at CBHS, I was going to meet with admissions representatives from around the country (they do not visit often).
