{"id":25537,"date":"2015-09-21T14:05:05","date_gmt":"2015-09-21T18:05:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/homophobic-bar-owner-goes-off-on-gay-couple-internet-goes-off-on-homophobic-bar-owner\/"},"modified":"2015-09-21T14:05:05","modified_gmt":"2015-09-21T18:05:05","slug":"homophobic-bar-owner-goes-off-on-gay-couple-internet-goes-off-on-homophobic-bar-owner","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.gayfriendschat.com\/socialblog\/homophobic-bar-owner-goes-off-on-gay-couple-internet-goes-off-on-homophobic-bar-owner\/","title":{"rendered":"Homophobic Bar Owner Goes Off On Gay Couple, Internet Goes Off On Homophobic Bar Owner"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b>Homophobic Bar Owner Goes Off On Gay Couple, Internet Goes Off On Homophobic Bar Owner<\/b><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/queerty-prodweb.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp\/docs\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-21-at-9.34.31-AM-360x233.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-09-21 at 9.34.31 AM\" width=\"360\" height=\"233\">A Fayetteville, North Carolina bar owner who kicked a <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a> <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> out because of public displays of affection says she is getting threats from &ldquo;coast to coast&rdquo;&nbsp;via social media because of her actions.<\/p>\n<p>Or at least that&rsquo;s how the local media is covering the story.<\/p>\n<p>Long-time Fayetteville resident Dustin Baker and his visiting boyfriend Andrew Deras decided to hit up Louie&rsquo;s Sports Pub for a few drinks and to catch the <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=grq0&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">live<\/a> band.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/gay-couple-kicked-out-of-public-pool-for-kissing-and-its-all-caught-on-video-20150810\" target=\"_blank\">Gay Couple Kicked Out Of Public Pool For Kissing And It&rsquo;s All Caught On Video<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>What Deras describes as a &ldquo;minor peck&rdquo; from Baker prompted bar owner Pam Griffin to approach the <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> and ask them to&nbsp;&ldquo;move apart.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You don&rsquo;t need to be doing that,&rdquo; she told them, adding &ldquo;you&rsquo;re making people uncomfortable.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/queerty-prodweb.s3.amazonaws.com\/wp\/docs\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-21-at-9.34.02-AM-360x225.jpg\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-09-21 at 9.34.02 AM\" width=\"360\" height=\"225\">So Deras planted a big kiss on Baker in front of Griffin, and that&rsquo;s when she flipped her lid and made it clear they were no longer welcome.<\/p>\n<p>Local affiliate&nbsp;<em>WRAL&nbsp;<\/em>interviewed attorney Michael Boose about the incident, who maintained that Griffin had every right to kick the <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> out,&nbsp;<em>not<\/em> because they&rsquo;re <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a>, but because they were causing a &ldquo;disturbance.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/teens-kicked-out-of-mcdonalds-for-classin-up-the-joint-with-a-gay-date-20130916\" target=\"_blank\">Teens Kicked Out Of McDonald&rsquo;s For Classin&rsquo; Up The Joint With A Gay Date<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wral.com\/news\/local\/video\/14907313\/\" target=\"_blank\">The story ends with this red flag of a double standard<\/a>: &ldquo;Two weeks ago they had a heterosexual <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/www.flirt4free.com\/live\/girls\/couples\/?mp_code=akftr\">couple<\/a> doing the same thing and [Griffin]&nbsp;asked them to calm down. They did, and they were allowed to stay.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Somehow we doubt the straight threshold for making Griffin and her regulars uncomfortable is equal to the <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">gay<\/a> one.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking with&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.fayobserver.com\/news\/local\/pitts-louie-s-bar-gives-gay-couple-the-boot-over\/article_b9ff9251-c9e2-5507-9c50-137b7f96ec53.html\" target=\"_blank\" data-ref-index=\"2\">the <i>Fayetteville Observer<\/i><\/a>, Griffin said: &nbsp;&ldquo;I tried to be as nice as I could. This is a straight bar. I don&rsquo;t mind who comes in &mdash; white, black, mixed, Chinese. Everybody&rsquo;s welcome. But you have to respect the kind of place you&rsquo;re in.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But let&rsquo;s get back to these &ldquo;threats&rdquo; Griffin is supposedly receiving on social media.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Here&rsquo;s a sampling of some of our favorites from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.yelp.com\/biz\/louies-sports-pub-fayetteville\" target=\"_blank\">Louie&rsquo;s Yelp page<\/a>.
