OkCupid is the only dating app in the world that matches people on what matters to them through in-app questions that power our algorithm. These questions help us remain close to what\u2019s trending in culture, politics, and society at\u00a0large.<\/p>\n

Over the past couple<\/a> of years artificial intelligence has been a hot topic, most recently with ChatGPT dominating conversations online and <\/em>offline. In January, there was a 91% increase in mentions of \u201cartificial intelligence\u201d and \u201cChatGPT\u201d on OkCupid profiles compared to the month prior. So we asked the chatbot from OpenAI what it would ask on a date, and what would it ask on a dating\u00a0app?<\/p>\n

We added half a dozen of those questions\u200a\u2014\u200aabout everything from what you value most in a partner to how you can balance your own needs with the needs of a partner in a relationship\u200a\u2014\u200aand daters have already answered them more than 175,000\u00a0times.<\/p>\n

In fact, daters who think ChatGPT is a \u201clife saver\u201d get almost 40% more Matches on OkCupid than those who think it\u2019s \u201ctoo big brother.\u201d But most singles are still uncertain about how important these tools will play in building and fostering romantic relationships (beyond creating matching questions, of\u00a0course<\/em>):<\/p>\n
