Jesus was gay<\/a> or \u2018at the very least\u2019 queer, says theologian<\/b><\/p>\n

A theologian has claimed Jesus was gay<\/a> or at least queer, and maybe even transgender.<\/p>\n

Dr Reverend Bob Shore-Goss, who holds a doctorate degree in Comparative Religion from Harvard, said he ‘would love to jump into bed with Jesus’  – for spiritual reasons, of course.<\/p>\n

‘At the very least, Jesus was queer,’ the openly gay<\/a> senior pastor, told Vice<\/a> magazine.<\/p>\n

‘He broke the rules of his culture, of heteronormativity. He subverted masculinities and gender codes in his culture. Queer doesn’t necessarily mean sexual orientation, but it can include that.’<\/p>\n

He added: ‘Perhaps he was intersex or trans<\/a>, because he was born without a father, and therefore was born female<\/a> and took on the phenotype of a male<\/a>.’<\/p>\n

Shore-Goss said St Paul would probably be described as a closeted homosexual today – ‘they didn’t have those words at the time.’<\/p>\n

‘There was no concept of sexual orientation, but there was a concept of gender,’ he said.<\/p>\n

‘So, in the Bible, when a man<\/a> sleeps with another man<\/a> like with a woman<\/a>, it’s an abomination. See, the emphasis is on a man<\/a> betraying his status: He has feminized himself. So it’s a gender violation as opposed to a sexual violation.’<\/p>\n

Finally, asked whether Jesus was a top or a bottom, he answered: ‘Versatile.’<\/p>\n
