Online harassment-reporting platform HeartMob<\/a> asked Twitter users to share their stories using #MyTroll<\/a>, and the results are truly staggering.<\/p>\n

\nHarassers are everywhere. Any woman<\/a> who has dared to express an opinion or share a story about her life online has probably been criticized and mocked, if not outright threatened. Some women<\/a> are persistently harassed by specific, incredibly aggressive trolls who make chilling personal threats. <\/p>\n

Recently, public figures like actress Ashley Judd<\/a> and Feminist Frequency founder Anita Sarkeesian<\/a> have spoken out about how harassment has changed their lives, and the steps they have taken to protect themselves<\/a> from threats made over the Internet. <\/p>\n

Platforms like Twitter<\/a> have promised to do better at shutting down trolls and responding appropriately to threats<\/a>, but there’s still a long way to go. <\/p>\n

Here’s just a few of the terrible things trolls have said to women<\/a>:<\/p>\n

#MyTroll<\/a> follows my every move even when he’s not active, to ensure that he can threaten me in the creepiest way possible when he is<\/p>\n
