1)<\/strong> Disney has rescheduled the release of the upcoming The New Mutants<\/em>,<\/a> which will now be released theatrically on August 28 from its previous April 3rd date. The film features a queer romance between main characters Rahne and Dani<\/a> at the center of the film. In more film news, out actor Brandon Flynn has been cast in upcoming dark comedy Looks That Kill<\/em>, as Max, a teenager “born with a medical condition of being lethally attractive<\/a>.” The film will be released by Gravitas Ventures.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

2) <\/strong>The fifth season of Queer Eye<\/em> will be released on Netflix on June 5.<\/a> The show will take place in Philadelphia this season, with Bobby Berk, Karamo Brown, Tan France, Antoni Porowski, and Jonathan Van Ness helping 10 new “heroes.” In more TV news, out bi actress Ali Stroker<\/a> will guest star on the upcoming season of The Bold Type<\/em> as Olivia, an old friend of Sutton’s. The Bold Type<\/em> will return on June 11.<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> Out writer and producer Ryan Murphy posted last week that he is working<\/a> on writing a project for Dylan McDermott and out actor Leslie Jordan. Details of the project are still unknown. Murphy also announced on his Instagram that American Horror Story<\/em> will have a spinoff, American Horror Stories,<\/a><\/em> where each episode is a self-contained story.  A first look has been released<\/a> for the upcoming animated special of One Day at a Time, <\/em>which is set to air on June 16. The first image shows the cast of characters fully animated, including lesbian<\/a> character Elena Alvarez.<\/p>\n

“American Horror Story” cast zoom call…where we reminisced about the good times…the spin off we’re doing called “American Horror Stories” (one hour contained episodes)…when we will start filming the next season of the mothership…and other stuff I cannot print. 4) <\/strong>New streaming service HBO Max<\/a> announced the premiere dates for several upcoming series, including multiple queer-inclusive shows. The second season of Doom Patrol<\/em>, wich includes gay<\/a> character Larry Trainor aka Negative man<\/a>, will premiere on June 25, along with the third season of Search Party<\/em>, which includes gay<\/a> character Elliot. Also on June 25, the new Adventure Time: Distant Lands<\/em> will premiere. This is the first of four Adventure Time <\/em>specials coming to HBO Max, the 2018 series finale on Cartoon Network confirmed that fan favorite characters Princess Bubblegum and Marceline ended up together<\/a>. Watch the trailer below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong> A new spinoff of Drag Race, Canada’s Drag Race<\/em><\/a>, has been announced with a line-up of Canadian drag queens competing for the crown. The show will be judged by season 10’s Brooke Lynn Hytes, out actor Jeffrey Bower Chapman, and model Stacey McKenzie. It will premiere this summer on WOW Presents Plus. The trailer has been released for out comedian Hannah Gadsby’s<\/a> newest comedy special Douglas. <\/em>The special will premiere on Netflix on May 26; watch the trailer below.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

6) <\/strong>A Little Late with Lilly Singh<\/a>, <\/em>hosted by bi<\/a> comedian Lilly Singh, has been renewed for a second season. The show airs at 1:35am on NBC. The cast has been announced for Syfy’s Magic Girl Friendship Squad.<\/em><\/a> The cast includes out actors Anna Akana and Matteo Lane, with comedian Patti Harrison among the guest stars. The show is a women<\/a>-driven anime comedy about two young women<\/a>, Alex (Quinta Brunson) and Daisy (Akana), who are destined to save the Universe…as soon as they figure out how to pay their rent.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

7)<\/strong> The trailer has been released for the Netflix concert special Ben Platt: Live from Radio City Music Hall. <\/em>The concert special shows Platt’s sold out show from the venue in September 2019. He will also be releasing live<\/a> tracks from the concert in the deluxe version of his album Sing to Me Instead. <\/em>The album and special will be released on May 20. Platt also released a new single, “So Will I,” last Friday. Listen to it here.<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n

8)<\/strong> Out singer Kehlani released her newest album It Was Good Until It Wasn’t <\/em>on May 8. Stream and download the album here.<\/a> Queer bounce musician Big Freedia<\/a> released the new single “Pipe That” this week. The song is a collaboration with Icona Pop and Soul Rebels. Watch the video<\/a> below! Out bi<\/a> popstar Lady Gaga announced that her long-anticipated album Chromatica<\/em> will be released on May 29. 9) <\/strong>Singer Kim Petras released a new single and video<\/a>, “Malibu,” last week. The video<\/a>, filmed from home, shows Petras and several celebrities including Demi Lovato, Jonathan Van Ness, Pabllo Vittar, and more, dancing to the song. Watch the video<\/a> below. 10)<\/strong> The Indigo Girls released a new single last week, “Country Radio,” about a queer kid from a small town who loves country music. The single is from their upcoming album Look Long, <\/em>which will be released on May 22. Listen to the song here.<\/a> Out singer Alex Newell has released a new single and video<\/a>, “Mama Told Me.” The video<\/a> features photos from celebs including Adam Lambert, Laverne Cox, Shangela and Mj Rodriguez. 11) <\/strong>On Thursday, it was announced that production company<\/a> JJ LA will be hosting a five week long virtual concert series highlighting LGBTQ artists entitled “OUTLOUD: Raising Voices.” Artists on the line-up include Kesha, Greyson Chance, Allie X, Candis Cayne, Vincint, The Aces, and Wrabel. The first episode will be on Thursday, May 26 on Facebook.<\/p>\n
