While CNN and various other LGBT media outlets (this one included) covered the story about <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/mary-cheney-compares-men-in-drag-to-offensive-blackface-20150130\" target=\"_blank\">Mary Cheney&rsquo;s Facebook post<\/a> where she questioned the social acceptance of <a title=\"\" class=\"aalmanual\" target=\"_blank\"   href=\"https:\/\/chaturbate.com\/in\/?tour=R2Xc&#38;campaign=hl4zp&#38;track=gfcsb\">men<\/a> in drag versus white people in blackface,&nbsp;<em>The Advocate<\/em> posted its <a href=\"http:\/\/www.advocate.com\/politics\/media\/2015\/01\/30\/mary-cheney-compares-drag-blackface\" target=\"_blank\">own online article<\/a> with one glaring omission &mdash; Cheney was inspired to make the comparison after watching a promo on TV for <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/tag\/rupaul\">RuPaul<\/a>&rsquo;s Drag Race<\/em>. Other than a quick reference to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/tag\/rupaul\">RuPaul<\/a> above the byline in the article, there is no mention of <em>Drag Race<\/em>; an important piece to the story considering it was what prompted Cheney to post her question on Facebook.<\/p>\n<p>If this sounds odd, let&rsquo;s go back in time to last year when Parker Molloy was a freelance writer for <a href=\"http:\/\/Advocate.com\" class=\"autohyperlink\">Advocate.com<\/a>. During the airing of season six of&nbsp;<em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/tag\/rupaul\">RuPaul<\/a>&rsquo;s Drag Race<\/em>, Molloy wrote several unflattering hit pieces about the show and its host and executive producer, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/tag\/rupaul\">RuPaul<\/a>. While the posts sparked quite a bit of debate, they were biased and one-sided since they were written from the perspective of an outraged individual. Of course, we all know how that story ended. Molloy and <a href=\"http:\/\/Advocate.com\" class=\"autohyperlink\">Advocate.com<\/a> parted ways last October after several messy fiascos involving her inability to stop <a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/parker-molloy-resigns-from-advocate-lashes-out-at-former-colleagues-20141031\" target=\"_blank\">lashing out at people on social media and in private messages<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Now as <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/tag\/rupaul\">RuPaul<\/a>&rsquo;s Drag Race<\/em> gears up for another season, it seems the editors over at<em> The Advocate&nbsp;<\/em>would prefer to not give the show any notable mention on its site at all. In addition to yesterday&rsquo;s omission in the Mary Cheney story, the Advocate also neglected to sufficiently report on LogoTV&rsquo;s announcement earlier this week regarding the premiere date for the groundbreaking crossover hit&rsquo;s&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.queerty.com\/its-a-fish-hole-rupauls-drag-race-season-seven-has-a-premiere-date-and-teaser-clip-20150128\" target=\"_blank\">upcoming seventh season<\/a>, merely offering a cursory mention&nbsp;of the &ldquo;battle of the seasons tour&rdquo; in an entertainment roundup column.
