1)<\/strong> The buzzed-about film\u00a0Bombshell<\/em> opens in theaters this weekend. The movie follows the women<\/a> of Fox News speaking out against harassment from Roger Ailes. Though several of the characters are real life figures, there are also new fictional additions including lesbian<\/a> character Jess Carr played by out actress Kate McKinnon, and Margot Robbie\u2019s Kayla Popsisil. Bombshell <\/em>will play in limited theaters this weekend and open everywhere on December 20.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

2)<\/strong> HBO Documentaries has acquired the rights to Welcome to Chechnya<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>the new documentary from out filmmaker David France. The film follows a group of activists fighting against the anti-LGBTQ violence and repression in Chechnya. Welcome to Chechnya <\/em>will debut at Sundance this January and air on HBO in June of 2020. In more film news,\u00a0out actor Jonathan Groff has been cast in the The Matrix 4<\/em><\/a>, <\/em>the anticipated sequel from Lana Wachowski. Groff joins Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, Jaida Pinkett Smith and Neil Patrick Harris in the cast.<\/p>\n

3)<\/strong> A trailer was released for In The Heights,<\/em> the film adaptation of the Tony Award-winning musical from Lin Manuel-Miranda. Actress Daphne Rubin-Vega and Miranda confirmed that characters Daniela (Vega) and Carla<\/a> (out actress Stephanie Beatriz) are a couple<\/a> in the film. Watch the trailer below. A new trailer has been released for upcoming comedy Like a Boss, <\/em>featuring out actor Billy Porter. The film stars Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish and will be in theaters on January 10. \"\"4)<\/strong> Michael Chabon\u2019s acclaimed novel The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier & Clay <\/em>will be adapted into a limited series at Showtime<\/a>. The story follows two Jewish cousins over the course of several years, serving as instrumental in the creation of the comic book industry. The novel also explores the relationship between lead character Sammy and another man<\/a>.<\/p>\n

5)<\/strong> Quibi has new project The Andy Cohen<\/em> Diaries<\/em><\/a> will chronicle the life of the out host and GLAAD Media Award honoree through animated episodes. Quibi has also picked up a remake of MTV\u2019s \u201890s dating show Singled Out, <\/em>hosted by out stars Keke Palmer and Joel Kim Booster. The updated version of the show has the message that \u201canyone and everyone can find love no matter their sexual preference<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n

6)<\/strong> Kesha has released a new single and music video<\/a> \u201cResentment,\u201d featuring Brian Wilson, Sturgill Simpson, and out singer Wrabel. 7)<\/strong> Troye Sivan is featured on the latest track from singer Allie X, \u201cLove Me Wrong.\u201d<\/a> The song is about the divide between family when they don\u2019t accept their children for who they are. 8)<\/strong> Out singer Beccs has released a queer Christmas song<\/a> \u201cBefore This Christmas Ends.\u201d The song and music video<\/a> are a romance between Beccs and another woman<\/a>. 9)<\/strong> The nominees for the 2020 Critics Choice Awards were unveiled on Sunday, and the list includes several LGBTQ-inclusive movies, television shows, and talent. Highlights include Booksmart, Portrait of a Lady on Fire, Pose, David Makes Man, One Day at a Time, Schitt\u2019s Creek, Years and Years, She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, BoJack Horsman, <\/em>Billy Porter, Mj Rodriguez, Asia Kate Dillon, Daniel Levy, Nico Santos, Andrew Scott, Russell Tovey, and Wanda Sykes. \"\"10)<\/strong> Documentary And They Were Loved<\/em> is currently funding to finish production. The film follows black and brown young queer men<\/a> in the South, and their individual stories of trauma, triumph and love.
