Two Giuliani Associates at Center of Trump Impeachment Inquiry Have Been Arrested<\/b><\/p>\n

Two associates of Rudy Giuliani who assisted in efforts to pressure Ukraine to investigate Trump\u2019s political rival Joe Biden, have been arrested.<\/p>\n

The NYT reports<\/a>: \u2018The two men<\/a>, Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, believed to be\u00a0important witnesses in the House\u2019s impeachment inquiry<\/a>\u00a0of Mr. Trump, were arrested on campaign finance charges. The arrests and charges were first reported by The\u00a0Wall Street Journal<\/a>. Mr. Parnas and Mr. Fruman aided<\/a>\u00a0Mr. Giuliani\u2019s efforts<\/a>\u00a0to gin up investigations in Ukraine into former Vice President Joseph R. Biden Jr. and his son Hunter Biden, among other potentially politically beneficial investigations for Mr. Trump.\u2019<\/p>\n

The men<\/a> had been scheduled for depositions with House investigators this week though neither had been expected to show up. <\/p>\n

Though Giuliani has identified the men<\/a> as \u201cclients,\u201d Parnas and Fruman have hired Trump\u2019s former attorney John Dowd to represent them.<\/p>\n
