The Adventure
As Honey and Allumari parted ways, our adventurer felt a familiar tug at their heart strings. They missed home, not The Faewylds (though they missed that home too) but rather the home of their people. The land of nymphs, satyrs, dryads and other folk of the ilk pulled at them, compelling them to return.
‘and just how am I supposed to get there, when I can’t leave until the fairelands are done? Asked the nymph. Just then Honey overheard a couple talking about the city-state of Nysaris, and how the ancient culture had been pulled from the mists. As they talked the nymph’s heart began to ache even more. So off they went to the next faireland.

Once there Honey found themself lost in nostalgia as they walked the open market and visited the shops. They purchased a chiton, and as they put it on, with the familiar fabric caressing their skin, they would swear to you they were home.

Soon after their shopping trip Honey explored the polis deeper until they came to an enclosed temple. The space had been filled with warm light from hundreds of lit candles. There stood an altar, with words carved into it.

As long as we remember, they will live. As long as we live, they will be remembered, for they permanently are a part of us.

A place of remembrance, that is what our adventurer had found. A place to honor warrior, mother, child, and all who now find themselves resting in the Elysian Fields. Honey shed tears without realizing it,their eyes becoming red and puffy, as the memories flooded back of all those they had lost. A whispered prayer to both ancestors, and gods, echoed in the chamber. It took Honey a moment to realize it was from their lips the sound came.

The nymph’s magic flowed through their body, creating a swirl of petals and flowers, a Diadem honoring their own goddess, Hera, appeared, and the familiar hearts shimmered on their skin. The memories of their people seemed to fuel this magic, as well as the hope that they could save their own home and its denizens.

The nymph said one last prayer in their mother tongue:

And they live untouched by sorrow in the islands of the blessed along the shore of deep-swirling Ocean, happy heroes for whom the grain-giving earth bears honey-sweet fruit

The Adventure
Honey was tracking down a rumor amongst the denizens of a traveler seeking powerful weapons to combat some great threat to her homeland. Honey thought they might have something in common and was hot on the trail. They landed in Spirits’ Crossing. A realm of twin cities that were connected by a singular old bridge.

Once there, it became very obvious that Honey was in the right place because who stood before them, but Allumari, their Drow friend from The Faewylds. It turns out she too had ventured into the Fairelands to seek an answer to the corruption threatening their homeland, only she apparently had woken up and chose violence. Honey thought to themself Ah, typical Drow solution. Fight the thing, kill the thing, no more thing. Honey however was more convinced that this problem required more of a cure than spear and sword. But, that being said, the Drow were often more right than wrong, and our adventurer thought that maybe the solution could be a two pronged approach.

As the two talked, Allumari showed Honey her new found power she had acquired in the Fairelands, that of the Valkyrie. It was awesome (and a little scary) to witness. When the nymph had asked where Allumari had obtained this power, she answered in typical Drow behavior, which was to say: she dodged the question.

Honey was amazed at the leaps and bounds their friend had made. The Drow tried to teach our adventurer the secret to the Valkyrie but try as they might, the nymph couldn’t master the technique. The Valkyrie’s power required too much aggression, too much willingness to confront an issue head on, which admittedly was not in the nymph’s nature. Honey was a spirit of lust, love, compassion, and just plain too sweet for such magics.

That was okay though, because our adventurer didn’t need to be all the things, after all that’s why people have friends. Everyone brings something different, something unique and wonderful to the table.

This thought of Honey’s resonated deep in their heart…once again they felt like they were getting closer to the answer…but what could it be?

This was such a fun collaboration between Allumari and myself and I hope you all enjoy it!
Between the outfits, scouting the Fairelands for that perfect spot, and then building the story together in a way that rang true to both characters was so much fun!
