Crossing the little bridge, the ruins fully came into view. It was one of those warm summer afternoons that seemed to ask nothing more than an unhurried walk and an open mind. The abbey appeared quietly from the landscape, neither grand nor imposing, simply waiting to be explored.

W0 – Julie at Waverley Abbey

A rather lovely June afternoon seemed too good to waste, so I headed over to Waverley Abbey, with Kat pressed into service as my photographer for the day.
I’d been there before, of course, but the ruins, the river and the old abbey grounds make a particularly good backdrop for photographs — especially when the sun is shining and somebody else is carrying the camera!
We wandered around for a couple of hours, stopping wherever Kat thought there might be a decent picture. She rather took to her new role and, as you can see, I wasn’t exactly reluctant to pose.
Nothing particularly adventurous on this occasion — just Julie enjoying an afternoon out, while Kat did all the work.
