Back to My Roots… Sort Of

Back to My Roots… Sort Of

Back to My Roots… Sort Of

I Missed the Madness… apparently. 😂🌀

So this happened.

I was browsing the internet the other day, minding my own business, when I spotted this rather ridiculous head of curls and immediately thought:

“Ohhh… I miss having crazy curly hair.”

This is apparently how easily I can be influenced.

Back in my 20s I had naturally curly hair that could only really be described as “a situation”. It was big, bouncy, and unruly. There’s a link to photographic evidence of my former curly-haired madness flic.kr/p/2scPQWU

When I cleared my last purge and restarted my journey about ten years ago, I went for wigs that were a little more… forgiving…. Somewhere in that lovely middle ground between “I have curls!” and “I’ve been struck by a freak weather event.”

And then along comes this wig.

So obviously I bought it.

And now I’m sitting here thinking…

What have I done?! 😂

The curls are MAD.

I love them.

I hate them.

I love them again.

I think.

I definitely need to learn how to style them properly because right now they’re giving more ‘I woke up like this’ than ‘effortlessly styled feminine goddess.’

But honestly, perhaps that’s okay.

I’ve always been a messy-hair kind of girl. My hair has never really been interested in following instructions, and maybe that’s precisely why I like it.

So here we are.

Curly Sarah is back.

She’s slightly feral, mildly confused and apparently incapable of owning a hairbrush.

Some things never change.
