In the garden, there was a stillness that wasn’t empty,
but full of everything he had left behind.
He stepped barefoot onto the warm wood,
and an orange fell from the tree as if the day agreed:
Yes, today is just for you.
His gaze was calm, almost translucent.
His skin a mosaic of stories – colorful, uncensored.
He wore nothing but a little fabric, a little warmth –
and the freedom not to please anyone.
The small, fluffy alpacas looked at him as if they knew what heart-silence meant.
And maybe they did? Because love had never grown loud in his life –
more like the steam rising from the water: tangible, but not to be held.
So he breathed – not fleeing, not searching.
Just there – among lemon leaves, the scent of lavender,
and an afternoon that asked for nothing more than simply to be.

The wind carries old names long forgotten, yet he remembers,
as he walks across the soft soil of the ancient forest.
He remembers blood that flowed like roots into the earth,
oaths spoken with breath and flame.
In his eyes, the light of distant fires is reflected.
In his hand rests more than just a creature –
it is hope in scaled form,
a new beginning with trembling wings.
The power in the silence seems to strike fear into everything around them,
and the weight of time can be felt in every step.
Some wars are not fought with swords, but with the courage to stand still when all else falls.
So he remains calm – not out of fear, but out of reverence.
He walks on with steady steps,
while the world around him shatters.
And somewhere beyond the horizon, where the sky burns and the ground glows, it waits.
Perhaps the end – Perhaps a new beginning.

(NEW) Pride Cymru 2023, Tiger Dress

About the photograph.
I spotted her in the parade, what caught my attention was her tiger colours dress, and as I like tigers much, I thought to grab some shots.
The photograph was taken on High Street, roughly more or less near to the High St Arcade entrance, only approximately between 10 to 15 minutes after the start of the parade march. It was not right at the front of the parade, but still somewhere nearer to the front of the parade.
I think I was on the other side of the parade, when I spotted her, and decided to get through the parade convoy to the other side, hoping for better chance of taking photos of her.
Here is one of the few shots I took from the side of the street, as they walked past.
If you view my Fave pages, you may find I have faved other Users’ photos of vehicles covered with tiger strips, as well as photos of tigers, so you’ll know that I really like tigers. I just find that the tiger strips are a kind of a majestic patterns.
Anyway, as this was my second Pride photography, having done the Bristol Pride the year before (2022), and my fourth photojournalism kind since starting photography. I was simply being an unpaid freelance photographer, taking the photos in order to build up experience and portfolio.
That day was a very hot sunny day, the parade was about one mile in length, and for those taking part in the parade, it would take them only about an hour to complete the journey. It took me about two hours, considering I often went back and forth along the parade looking for better shots.
At the end, I got myself a massive sunburn, but don’t worry, I learnt my lessons, on the next similar photography pursuits, I use sun cream.
About the event.
Pride Cymru was previously called Cardiff Mardi Gras when it was formed in September 1999. It held annual festival in Bute Park. It became a registered charity in 2010, and starting from 2012, they held a parade through the city centre.
In 2014, Cardiff Mardi Gras was renamed to Pride Cymru, and had operated under the new name ever since the change of name.
Pride Cymru is in reality a weekend event, often called Pride Cymru Big Weekend, and attracts up to 50,000 people over the three days, with Saturdays having the parade through the city centre.
The route for the parade is approximately about more or less one mile in length, and would take anyone approximately up to an hour to complete the route.
Because I was doing photojournalism, trying to find interesting shots, therefore I often sometimes walk back and forth, up and down the parade, so it would take me about a couple of hours to do the photo-shoot.
That day was a very hot and strong sunny day, and I some sunburn.
