Beth Ditto Marries Kristin Ogata For The Second Time

Beth Ditto Marries Kristin Ogata For The Second Time
Beth Ditto is a married woman…once again.

The Gossip singer tied the knot with wife Kristin Ogata in Oregon on New Year’s Eve before a group of family members and friends, E! Online reports. It was the couple’s second wedding, as they’d initially staged a 2013 ceremony in Hawaii.

Since Oregon legalized same-sex marriage in May 2013, Ditto and Ogata’s union will now be recognized in their home state.

Ditto, 33, confirmed the news with a heartwarming photograph on Gossip’s official Facebook page:

The pair first got engaged in 2012, after a decade of friendship.

I was born to be married,” Ditto told The Guardian that May. “I love the idea of being partnered for ever. I love my girlfriend, we’ve been best friends since I was 18. There’s not a thing we haven’t been through except for marriage… We’ve had talks about what we would name our kids since we were in our 20s.”

Congrats again, ladies!

Christian Nutjob Peter LaBarbera Writes Dr. Seuss-Inspired Hate Poem About Michael Sam

Christian Nutjob Peter LaBarbera Writes Dr. Seuss-Inspired Hate Poem About Michael Sam

peter-labarberaPeter LaBarbera of the self-proclaimed Americans For Truth About Homosexuality has a rap sheet of dangerously wacky behavior too long to list.

Basically, Peter LaBarbera = total douchebag.

And while those who comprise the sane universe — even the misguided ones who were offended — are very much done talking about that Michael Sam televised draft kiss from over six months ago, for some reason or another (we’re thinking it has to be internalized homophobia?), Pete just can’t let it go!

He recently posted this gem:

labarbera-sam

We won’t even attempt to get into Peter’s damaged psyche, but we did want to share his new poem — yes, that’s right — about the same subject.

This is the kind of bat-shit crazy reality you just couldn’t make up if you tried.

So here, ladies and gents, is a new poem by Peter LaBarbera inspired by Dr. Seuss’ Green Eggs And Ham. We sincerely applaud you if you have the stomach to read the entire thing:

I Saw the Kiss by Michael Sam. It Made Me Mad. He Kissed a Man!

By Peter LaBarbera

I saw the kiss by Michael Sam..
It made me mad–he kissed a man!

That’s something I don’t want to see
It’s wrong, unnatural, and it’s not just me.

Many now say, “Homosexuality is OK.”
But God says there’s a better way.

He made men for women, and women for men.
So why are “gays” so prideful then?

Please, no public same-sex kisses, Michael Sam.
We don’t want to see this man-on-man!

Not in a boat, not in a car
This public perversion goes too far!

Not in the store or on a bus
This same-sex stuff, it brings disgust.

Not at the movies or on TV
It’s wrong, unnatural, can’t you see?!

I don’t want my kids to think it’s right
So please, please, keep it out of sight!

Why is it always in our faces?
This sin–celebrated in so many places?

Even at football and baseball games
We have to pretend homosexuality’s the same.

Young kids exposed to same-sex acts,
When parents just wanna’ have fun and relax.

“Well,” said Michael Sam, “let me ask you this:
“Do you get mad when men and women kiss?!”

Man and woman, that’s Nature’s way.
As long as there’s not too much PDA.

“But can’t you see, it’s who I am?!
“I’m gay, accept me!” begged Michael Sam.

I disagree–it’s not who you are, it’s what you do.
Hey, haven’t you had a girlfriend or two?

Yes, but this is now and that was then.
My “sexual orientation”…hey, it’s towards men!

No, Michael Sam insisted, I’m gay.
Can’t you see I was born that way?

Why must you hate gays like me?
“Hate?” I said. “I don’t hate you, I just disagree!”

You already changed from straight to perverse.
Why can’t the process work in reverse?

Many like you once thought they were that way.
But they left homosexuality behind and are now EX-gay!

Men like DL Foster and Stephen Black
Who lived as “gay” for years but then turned back.

And EX-lesbians, too, like Charlene Cothran.
Have left the “gay” life to follow God’s plan.

Besides, homosexuality’s not safe; you should see…
The alarming stats on MSM [men who have sex with men] from the CDC.

Almost every case of young male HIV
Is linked to the practice of gay sodomy.

Sure, the PC sports writers will all say
They couldn’t be happier that you’re “gay

Some have compared you with the great 42.
But he broke the color barrier;
Homosexuality’s just a sin people DO!

I do not mean to pick a fight
When I say most Blacks don’t think homosexuality’s a “civil right.”

Far from a “right,” Michael. In fact, it’s wrong.
Must I put this in a song?

Michael shot back: “Not wrong at all, it’s who I am!
“I’m gay. My name is Michael Sam.”

“God made me black and blessed me with gayness.”
Blessed you?! Then why are so many diseases linked to “sex” in the anus?

No, God made you black–not ‘gay,’” said I.
“You’ve chosen to believe a lie!”

You can’t change your skin color, that’s a fact.
But homosexuality? That’s only an act.

And conduct we don’t want to see–at all!
Not on a train, or at the mall.

Not at the beach or in the gym.
Don’t be a poster boy for sexual sin!

We don’t want to see your “gay” kisses.
God’s ideal for sex and love homosexuality misses.

But I will pray for you, Michael Sam.
I’ll pray to the One who told Moses, “I AM WHO AM.”

If you believe in Jesus and turn from your sin,
Behold God’s kingdom: He’ll welcome you in!

Just remember, it’s God, not man, we answer to.
And He’s prepared a virtuous path for you.

No, He can’t bless your same-sex behavior.
But He’ll give you an “abundant life” with the Savior.

And no “hate” here–just God’s people’s love for the lost.
A price was paid for my sins and yours, at great cost.

Thanks for the chat,
I hope you see…

That you and I can disagree
Without me hating you, or you hating me.

Cue collective sigh.

Presbyterian Pastor Preaches Tolerance, But Fights To Suppress His Own Gay Desires

Presbyterian Pastor Preaches Tolerance, But Fights To Suppress His Own Gay Desires

Allan-e1390999610445

In the two years since Pastor Allan Edwards came to the Kiski Valley Presbyterian Church, the larger U.S. Presbyterian Church has come around to the idea of same sex marriage. Though Edwards preaches tolerance to his congregation, he firmly believes that same-sex attraction is a sin. Interestingly enough, Edwards, who is married to a woman, openly admits to grappling with his own homosexual urges.

“I think we all have part of our desires that we choose not to act on, right?” he explains in an interview with NPR. “So for me, it’s not just that the religion was important to me, but communion with a God who loves me, who accepts me right where I am.”

Edwards’s interview comes at a time when religious men who do not identify as gay, but are open about their attraction to men, are increasingly in the public spotlight. In Edwards and his wife’s opinion, his desires are no different than the personal struggles that all couples go through.

“Everybody has this experience of wanting something else or beyond what they have. Everyone struggles with discontentment. The difference, I think, and the blessing Leeanne and I have experienced is that we came into our marriage relationship already knowing and talking about it. And I think that’s a really powerful basis for intimacy.”

The Rubin Report Tackles TLC's 'My Husband's Not Gay' Controversy

The Rubin Report Tackles TLC's 'My Husband's Not Gay' Controversy
Rubin Report host Dave Rubin sounded off on the controversy surrounding TLC’s “My Husband’s Not Gay,” a new special which focuses on a group of Mormon men who say they have chosen to marry women even though they are attracted to other men.

Rubin minced few words when it came to his stance on the new show, while guests Ana Kasparian of The Young Turks and Turner Classic Movies’ Ben Mankiewicz offered slightly differing views.

“I actually don’t mind this reality show as much as others, because I think that it does shine a light on a really serious issue,” Kasparian said. “I actually got really upset at the women who know that their husband is gay and they’re enabling this denial of who they really are by marrying them … They’re not doing the right thing.”

Pointing to stigmas that exist around homosexuality and masculinity, Mankiewicz added, “I believe it is sincere, and I believe they think they can do it.”

At the time this story was published, an online petition calling for the cancellation of “My Husband’s Not Gay” had drawn over 90,000 supporters.

After the Ball Dropped: New Yorkers Get Into 2015

After the Ball Dropped: New Yorkers Get Into 2015

There are always plenty of options for New Yorkers to avoid the crowds and insanity of Time Square on New Year’s Eve. Justin Luke, Alan Picus, Joe Roszak, and the BoiParty crew brought the guys out to play at the hot new venue Shadow Boxers where Dj-Rico Alexis, DJ Dawson, Ryan Skyy, and William Francis rang in 2015 with style. Shadow Boxers has quickly become the “it” gay sports bar in midtown, always luring a hot and healthy crowd from every corner of Manhattan. Nearby, Hell’s Kitchen’s very own BPM hosted one of the largest extravaganzas in town: “First Light” where Tony Moran and Serving Ovahness spun the main dance floor as local favorite DJ Steve Sidewalk worked the children up in the lounge. The crowd was still living after champagne toasts, kisses from lovers and strangers but ended up partying well past sunrise and into brunch.

Downtown, Showbiz Spitfire Paige Turner knew many of her boys wanted to avoid Taylor Swift, the sea of NYPD, tourists, and fanatics of Times Square. She teamed up with East of Eighth and DJ Calvin for a special three course dinner, intimate performance, and plenty of balls dropping at midnight.

Wingnut Bob Marshall Introduces 'Unethical, Abusive And Dangerous' Anti-Gay Legislation in Virginia

Wingnut Bob Marshall Introduces 'Unethical, Abusive And Dangerous' Anti-Gay Legislation in Virginia

6a00d8341c730253ef01b7c73089a3970b-800wiAnti-gay bigot and Virginia Republican delegate Bob Marshall has introduced new legislation that would allow for widespread discrimination against LGBT people in the state, reports LGBTQ Nation.

Marshall is no stranger to anti-gay policy making – in 2006, he co-authored Virginia’s constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriage.

The new bill HB 1414 states that “a person shall not be required to perform, assist, consent to, or participate in any action or refrain from performing, assisting, consenting to, or participating in any action as a condition of obtaining or renewing a government-issued license, registration, or certificate where such condition would violate the religious or moral convictions of such person with respect to same-sex marriage or homosexual behavior.”

Greg Nevins of Lambda Legal, who fought the state’s ban on same-sex marriage last year, said a bill as broad in scope as HB 1414 would allow a doctor to refuse to prescribe HIV medication to a gay man, or a therapist to refuse counseling to an individual in a same-sex relationship.

He added that it “threatens the mental and physical health of Virginia residents…is unconstitutional…unethical, abusive and dangerous.”

Although the bill could pass both the Republican-majority House and Senate, openly gay delegate Mark Sickles said he believes Democratic governor Terry McAuliffe would veto the measure.

Last year, Marshall called for the impeachment of Attorney General Mark Herring over his refusal to defend the state’s ban on same-sex marriage in court.
