Outside the Bristol City Council offices at Collage Green, Bristol, England, United Kingdom, on Saturday 26th April 2025.
About this photograph.
After the Scottish Supreme Courts ruled that the definition of sex is biological sex at birth, many transgenders all around the United Kingdom staged a protest. I found out that there was going to be one in Bristol.
I arrived at College Green park which is where the Bristol City Council offices is located, and took photojournalism photos of the gathering crowd growing larger, until about 11am when they started their march into the central of the city.
In the above photograph, they are leaving the College Green park, and getting onto College Green, heading towards city. Here some of the protesters created a roadblock to let the marching protest across. The reason for why they themselves had to do the roadblock is because there were no police officers around.
A protest like this can happen in a short notice, not enough time for the police to do some planning, unlike a parade which would have been planned weeks or months in advance.
