peaceful protest march on Sunday, July 29, 1990. Organized by Lesbians and Gays Against Violence (LGV), it attracted 2,000 marchers and ended with a concert in Lafontaine Park. Montreal publicist Puelo Deir produced the outdoor-stage show at Montreal’s Parc Lafontaine. It followed LGV’s 1990 march from Montreal City Hall that, along with other SexGarage fundraisers, helped raise $5,000 to cover lawyer’s fees. La La La Human Step’s Louise Lecavalier performed an amazing dance piece with her regular partner, Donald Weikert. Popular Montreal rock band Bootsauce appeared, billed as Toe Jam due to their manager’s restrictions. Robert de la Gauthier DJ’d and Spiky sang an original song with Suzanne Downs.
