Kim Davis Released From Jail Before Defiant Crowd

WASHINGTON — Kim Davis, the Kentucky county clerk who defied a federal court order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, emerged from jail on Tuesday and was greeted by hundreds of jubilant supporters carrying flags, crosses and signs, one of which read, “Supreme Court = The new ISIS of America.”

Davis left the Carter County Detention Center with lawyer Mathew Staver, who had his arm around his crying client. She was also flanked by GOP presidential candidate Mike Huckabee, who has become one of her most vocal supporters.

“She loves God, she loves people, she loves her work, and she will not betray any of those three,” Staver told reporters outside the facility.

U.S. District Judge David Bunning released Davis after five of her six deputies began issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples. (The lone holdout is Davis’ son.) As part of her release, Bunning warned that Davis may not interfere with the duties of her deputy clerks.

Asked by reporters on Tuesday whether Davis will comply with this condition, Staver said only that she “cannot and will not violate her conscience.”

Huckabee praised Davis for showing “more courage than any politician I know” and offered rhetorically to bear any punishment in her place.

“If somebody needs to go to jail, I’m willing to go in her place,” he said.

There is a pro-Davis rally set for Tuesday afternoon, at which Davis herself is scheduled to thank the crowd. Huckabee and Staver quickly went to the rally area after leaving the detention center and greeted her supporters.

“Kim Davis is free!” declared Huckabee to loud cheers.

Another speaker followed the former Arkansas governor with prayer, proclaiming, “We don’t need the Supreme Court when we have the Supreme Being!”

Davis had been in jail since Thursday, when Bunning ordered her locked up until she complied with his order to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples. She argued that she could not do so because it “irreparably and irreversibly violates her conscience.” Davis is a follower of Apostolic Christianity. Supporters of gay marriage have pointed out that she’s hardly a model of “family values,” since she has been divorced three times.

Staver said Davis plans to return to work this week, and she has no intention of resigning despite the standing court order to issue marriage licenses to all couples. (Kentucky law largely shields an elected official like Davis from being forced out of her post.). Staver and his client are instead asking officials to remove her name and authority from the certificate.

“She cannot allow her name to be associated with something that conflicts with God’s definition of marriage,” he said.

Opponents of marriage equality are holding her up as a martyr for their cause. Huckabee, in particular, has been outspoken in her defense. On Sunday, he compared her stance to President Abraham Lincoln’s fight against slavery.

Kentucky gubernatorial candidate Matt Bevin, a Republican, also tweeted out a photo with Davis — which was photobombed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), another prominent Davis supporter.

The U.S. Supreme Court struck down state bans on marriage equality on June 26.

Michael Hoffman And Pal Celebrate America By Greasing Each Other Down

Remember Michael Hoffman? He’s the tattooed beefcake who made ripples across the web when a video of him pleasuring the muscle between his legs “leaked” online. He assured everyone at the time that he is not gay, and made it known how humiliated he was that the video found its way to your screen.

Shortly after, a whole barrage (very NSFW) of videos were also “leaked,” and the whole thing began to smell awfully fishy.

Then there were unfounded accusations that Brent Everett stole his nude video selfie library for personal profit. Scandal!

“It’s hard for me to walk around in the public without people looking at me like, ‘Oh, look, that’s the dude who jerks off. Oh, he’s the guy who ate his cum,” he complained in a nearly unwatchable YouTube rant.

In the end, Hoffman appeared to be more in need of a few business 101 classes than he was of a lawyer.

We certainly hope he’s getting paid something for this latest, totally not gay video titled “Michael Hoffman muscle worship by friend.” Pure poetry.

Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas lists home on Airbnb

Welsh rugby legend Gareth Thomas has listed his home in the Welsh countryside on home-sharing website Airbnb.

Following in the steps of former England player Lewis Moody, the openly gay rugby star is opening the doors to his home in the Vale of Glamorgan for fans – or those just looking for a quiet retreat by the sea – for £150 (€206, $230) per night.

The stylish, yet cozy, house in St Bridges Major can sleep up to six people, sharing three double beds and a spacious bathroom with a large roll top bath Thomas recommends guests dive into – although not literally, please – to relax.

Upon arrival, the former rugby pro will welcome guests and give them the grand tour of the house; those especially keen on testing his skills will be happy to hear Thomas is always up for a ‘kick about’ at his first professional club, Bridgend RFC – as long as there are no England jerseys involved.

Spacious dining facilities, complete with a stunning chandelier, and a garden offer plenty of space; a night in the lounge becomes even better by getting a fire going before relaxing on the couches.

House rules are simple: no pets, no parties, no smoking and please sing along heartily when the Welsh national anthem is played on game day– oh, and no bad reviews of Thomas’s book.

But it’s not all about the rugby, with the stunning coastline of South Wales (great for leisurely walks) just around the corner and a good pub, called The Star Inn, just a few miles away.

The towns of Bridgend and Pencoed offer a slightly busier experience, and Cardiff can be reached in less than an hour either on the train or by car.

Guests should also be prepared to welcome a very special guest: according to the listing on Airbnb, Thomas’s mum likes to pop round – in which case, guests are advised to offer her a cup of tea.

And, as the rugby star’s childhood home is nearby, his mother is also happy to show guests the extensive collection of medals and memorabilia, including a lycra outfit worn when Thomas was on Dancing on Ice – a tour around her ‘Gareth shrine’, as Thomas describes it.

Sam Smith Becomes First Gay Man To Sing James Bond Theme

Sam Smith has proven he has more in common with Adele, Shirley Bassey and Tom Jones than just big booming voices and British accents. The out soul singer has announced that he’ll join those illustrious vocalists and the latest to land the prestigious gig of recording the theme song for a James Bond caper.

“Writing’s on the Wall,” Smith’s theme for the upcoming Spectre, will be released September 25, ahead of the film’s November 6 premiere.

“This is one of the highlights of my career,” Smith said in a statement released today. “I am honored to finally announce that I will be singing the next Bond theme song. I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations. I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”

He also posted a photo of himself lounging in bed with the cheeky caption: Practising to be the best Bond girl I can be.

Anti-gay Rowan County, Kentucky clerk Kim Davis has been released from prison by federal judge David Bunning just days after Bunning jailed Davis for contempt.

Kim Davis To Be Released From Prison

This Man Identifies As 'Graysexual.' Here's What That Means.

You know what “gay” and “lesbian” and “bisexual” mean. You might even know what “asexual” and “pansexual” mean. But have you ever heard of someone identifying as “graysexual?”

In Christopher Stoudt‘s new short film, “I’m Graysexual,” a young man named Jared explains what it’s like to identify as graysexual, a term which exists under the asexuality umbrella and one he defines as a “magical place between asexual and someone who is sexual.” As The Frisky put it, “asexuality is often thought of as a spectrum, and gray-sexuality is the in-between — something more fluid between sexuality and asexuality.” Those who identify as graysexual might also identify as gay or straight or any other sexual identity along the binary.

In the clip, Jared, who also identifies as gay, explains, “I used to think I haven’t met the right person but I’ve been with a lot of guys and the experience has been very similar — I want to hold them, I want to kiss them but I don’t want to have sex with them. I don’t want a blow job, I don’t really want to give them a blow job and if they left their underwear on I would be super happy.” 

He adds, “I hate that I thought of myself as broken. I don’t want to fix myself. I think I’m fine.”

In an email to The Huffington Post, Stoudt noted, “It’s not that graysexuals are people with low sex-drives who have sex infrequently; graysexuals would be happy to never have sex again, as long as they live. In this video, you spend a night seeing the world through someone else’s eyes and see the world in a way that you might not have knew existed. They like to miss, they like to snuggle, they like human contact, and might even enjoy masturbating alone… but they don’t want to have sex. It’s not on their agenda.” 

Stoudt added that he wanted to make the video to reach others who might feel the way that Jared does but didn’t realize there was a term for how they identify.

“It’s a relatively new label that, twenty years ago, might have been written off and discounted… but with the power of the internet today to connect people and bring people together, those who don’t view their sexuality as a black-and-white distinction are able to form a community around a label,” he said. “Asexuality is all about empowering people with whatever label they feel comfortable with, and I wanted to make a video that gave validity to the graysexual term in the hopes of re-affirming those who felt this way.”
