Trans boy who died of suicide texted best friend: ‘I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!’ before death

The Wisconsin trans boy who killed himself Monday 29 September received tribute in an emotional eulogy from close friend Foster Noone.

Noone, a fellow queer activist, wrote the eulogy on Medium about the night of Skylar Lee’s death.

Nine minutes before writing his suicide letter, Lee sent Noone three texts which read: ‘FRIEND I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!’; ‘Just want you to know that’; ‘I love you so much.’

They received them the following morning.

The evening of Lee’s suicide, Lee asked Noone to read him a poem. They read: ‘Consider the Hands That Write This Letter’, a poem by American poet Aracelis Girmay.

In Lee’s suicide he wrote about how he loved fruit. Noone recounts in the eulogy Lee was a ‘pear’. ‘I feel like pears have a really calm, healing energy.

‘They’re really flavorful and yummy but the colors are really serene and pears can be great as part of a dish or be the star on their own.’

Lee said Noone was a peach.

‘I have an association of kindness [with peaches] because when I lived at my old house, in the summer my gran and I would go to this random old couple’s house who had a peach tree and they’d let us take their peaches for no reason except to be kind.’

In his suicide note Lee said he didn’t want to remembered as a ‘sob story’.

‘Don’t turn my name into a hash tag. Don’t treat this like glory suicide-fest. I am not killing myself because I am trans and queer.’

He said suicide by trans people creates a ‘chain reaction’.

Lee’s memorial service was held Friday October 2 in Madison, Wisconsin.

Here’s How You Can Rent A Go-Go Boy For A Night And Help Promote Gay Entertainment Simultaneously

Cast members of web series Go-Go Boy Interrupted are auctioning off their best assets — themselves — to go out on a dates with the highest bidders, and they need your money to help pay for Season 2 of their show.

Go-Go Boy Interrupted is a web series — so far seven episodes, each only three or four minutes long — about a go-go dancer/alcoholic/messy queen in West Hollywood who is approaching his 30th birthday, and realizes there may be more to life than just being selfish cu*t simply because he is young and therefore a sex object. GGBI creator/writer/director/star Jimmy Fowlie (pictured, in his underwear) based the lead character on his own life, and developed the show as a sketch at The Groundlings; he is now stepping in front of cameras in the hopes of landing a deal with Logo on a TV network. Good luck to him with that plan. Although perhaps it would be best if GGBI stayed as it is: a no-budget YouTube project that is mind-numbing with its vapidity, but is LOL funny.

Three cast members, all newcomers for the upcoming Season 2, are currently up for auction. Two of the guys are legit actors when they aren’t slumming it with this web series stuff: Scott Evans, who played the gay cop on One Life To Live, and Nick Adams, who starred on Broadway in Priscilla, Queen of the Desert. The third cast member, John Suazo, is a professional massage therapist, and he is auctioning his “date” as an hour-long massage session.

Since the cast members of GGBI aren’t real go-go boys (although there would be nothing wrong if they were, we’ve all gotta make a living), this means they will probably require a certain level of propriety on their dates, and they won’t provide any backroom antics like lap dances and such. Unless they like you for realsies. But seriously, is that really going to happen?

Of course if this fundraiser is a success, Fowlie will undoubtedly auction off anyone and everyone he has ever met to raise money to pay for his show. Fingers crossed he could convince cast member (and YouTube veteran) Drew Droege to put himself up for auction, because that bitch is HI-larious.

Polish President vetoes Gender Accordance laws

Polish President Andrzej Duda on Friday vetoed the Gender Accordance Act which was approved by the Polish Parliament (Sejm) in July this year.

The act will now return to the parliament where the veto can only be rejected with 3/5 of votes.

According to advocacy group Transgender Europe, the Gender Accordance Act ensures that ‘no one, except for the applicant, is involved in the gender recognition process.’ A transgender person will not require any surgery, medical intervention or hormone therapy.

To apply for recognition, the applicant will need to be a Polish citizen, unmarried and present two independent confirmations (not older than 12 months) of ‘being a person of a different gender identity than the gender legally assigned’ from a clinical psychologist who is also a sexologist, a psychiatrist or a sexologist who is also a medical doctor.

The application will then be assessed by a regional court in Łodz (which will also be the only court assessing these applications) within three months of submission.

The applicant will also receive a new birth certificate and new documentation proving their education and employment history.

The Act was introduced by the country’s first transgender MP, Anna Grodzka, in May 2012, and it was passed on 23 July by 252 votes to 158, with 11 absentations.

In response to an official statement released by the Vatican this morning claiming that Pope Francis didn’t specially request a meeting with Kim Davis, the Liberty Counsel has published several images charting their visit along with this press release:

Despite a statement this morning by a Vatican official, the Pope’s own words about conscientious objection being a human right and his private meeting with Kim Davis indicate support for the universal right of conscientious objection, even for government officials. The meeting with Kim Davis was initiated by the Vatican, and the private meeting occurred at the Vatican Embassy in Washington, D.C., on Thursday, September 24. This meeting was a private meeting without any other members of the public present.

On September 23, the meeting for the next day was confirmed by the Vatican official. On the morning of September 24, the meeting was again confirmed with Kim Davis, with instructions that security would arrive for a pickup at 1:15 p.m. Kim and Joe Davis were picked up by security at the hotel in which she and her husband were staying and driven to the Vatican Embassy. Kim and Joe Davis waited for the private meeting with the Pope. There were no other people in the room. This was a private meeting between Pope Francis and Kim and Joe Davis. This was not a meeting with other people in which Kim and Joe Davis were a part, but rather a private meeting with no other people in the room except Vatican security and personnel.

That statement by Reueters (sic) citing a ‘senior Vatican official, who delined to be named,’ is false. There was no line of people before, near, or around Kim Davis. Had Kim Davis been in a line of people or been seen by anyone outside of Vatican personnel, we would not have been able to keep her visit secret. Kim’s face is easily recognizable. When we walk through airports as large as LaGuardia, Philadelpia, and Reagan, people recognize her and give her encouragement. This was a private meeting with no other people except for the Pope and select Vatican personnel

The brief meeting between Mrs. Kim Davis and Pope Francis at the Apostolic Nunciature in Washington, DC has continued to provoke comments and discussion. In order to contribute to an objective understanding of what transpired I am able to clarify the following points:

Pope Francis met with several dozen persons who had been invited by the Nunciature to greet him as he prepared to leave Washington for New York City. Such brief greetings occur on all papal visits and are due to the Pope’s characteristic kindness and availability. The only real audience granted by the Pope at the Nunciature was with one of his former students and his family.

The Pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects.

Pat Robertson accuses gays of persecution and of ‘taking away the rights of everybody’

Anti-gay televangelist Pat Robertson, the 85-year-old host of TV’s The 700 Club, is accusing gays of persecution.

Robertson said Thursday (1 October) that gay people seek to ‘persecute anybody who disagrees with them’ in order to see them ‘bankrupted’ and ‘put in jail.’

‘Is that what The Left wants? The answer is absolutely. It is vindictive now…. The press is in league with the gay rights people and they somehow think this is a civil rights issue.’

Robertson made his comments in the context of Rowan County Clerk Kim Davis jailed for refusing to grant marriage licenses to gay couples and Washington florist Barronelle Stutzman fined for refusing to provide flowers for a same-sex wedding.

‘We’re not talking about having rights from the “poor, oppressed gays,” we’re taking away the freedoms of everybody who disagrees with them,’ Robertson said.

He added: ‘They better be careful what they’re doing because they’re taking away the rights of everybody.’

Bristol Palin Believes Hillary Clinton Fears Her Mom's 'Power'

Bristol Palin, the opinionated oldest daughter of former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin, is latching on to an uncovered email from Hillary Clinton that she believes proves the former Alaska governor is a force to be reckoned with.

In reality, the email was a forgettable correspondence. Clinton wanted to know who within the State Department changed the department’s terminology from “mother” and “father” to “parent one” and “parent two.” While State Department staff were likely trying to be sensitive to same-sex parents, Clinton thought the rightwing blogosphere, including Palin, would jump on the small policy change. 

Clinton said she wanted to avoid a “huge Fox-generated media storm led by Palin et al.” 

Bristol Palin took this as proof that Clinton was in fear of her mother. She wrote the following on her blog: 

“Hillary’s greatest hits just keep coming… and this time, they reveal that she is terrified of my mom! First of all, Hillary Clinton, the great tolerant one with rainbow Twitter avatars granting open-mindedness to any family formation under the sun, seems a bit more traditional in private than she does in public.

One might call it hypocritical if it didn’t come across as so focused on self-preservation instead of any actual policy stance. But this is just more of the same of what we’ve come to expect from Hillary Clinton. Does she actually believe anything or is she just seeking power and trying to avoid embarrassment?

Liberals like Hillary Clinton would have you believe all sorts of lies about my mother. But, behind closed doors, we find out all sorts of truths, including the fact that Hillary fears my mom’s power… millions of Americans know that what my mom talks about in public is right and what Hillary pretends to stand for is wrong.”

Just to be clear, “traditional” family defender Bristol Palin has two children born out of wedlock.

Lena Dunham Reveals Why She And Jack Antonoff Aren't Married Yet

Lena Dunham made a public pledge on several occasions that she and her musician boyfriend Jack Antonoff wouldn’t get married until gay couples had the right to do so.

So what happened when the Supreme Court legalized gay marriage on June 26? On an episode of “Ellen” that aired Friday, the “Girls” star told Degeneres that she and Antonoff were immediately flooded with texts from “friends, from our mothers, from our exercise instructors,” telling them, “Finally it’s your time.” 

But the couple of four years didn’t rush to the altar just because they could.

“We’re not going to suddenly just get engaged because it became legal,” she said. “We better wait for a moment where we feel excited about this. And I’m excited to marry him at some point, but it felt like a lot of pressure to just go for it that day.”

Dunham also offered a less serious, but totally valid reason for holding off. 

“I also have to say I feel intimidated because I don’t want to espouse any stereotypes, but gay people are kind of killing it at weddings right now,” she said. “They’re kind of winning at weddings. So I don’t want to go in and kind of pale in comparison.”

Dunham and Antonoff first met in 2012 after being set up on a blind date by comedian Mike Birbiglia. The pair lives in Brooklyn with their dog Lamby.

HIV-positive Danny Pintauro asked if he practices safe sex with negative husband

Three former child stars got together on ABC’s The View on Friday (2 October) to talk about a grown-up topic: HIV.

One-time Who’s the Boss star Danny Pintauro who shared with the world that he is HIV positive last weekend, was interviewed about his status by co-hosts Candance Cameron Bure (Full House) and Raven-Symone (The Cosby Show, That’s So Raven).

Symone got very personal at one point when she asked Pintauro, 39, if he and his husband practice safe sex. The husband, Wil Tabares, is HIV-negative and was in the audience during the interview.

‘The question is, we’re married, and you try not to have limits in your marriage,’ said Pintauro. ‘But there have to be limits in ours. Have we always been 100 percent safe? No. But I’m undetectable. And that means it’s really hard for me to give it to him. So we’re okay with that. We have that understanding that I’m taking care of myself, he’s taking care of himself.’

Cameron Bure then read this statement: ‘If you are HIV positive and still having unprotected sex regardless of what anti-viral drug percentages that you’re using, you’re still not keeping your partner 100% safe.

Pintauro interjected: ‘Oh, of course not! There is always a risk.’

He went on to explain: ‘Right now you’ve got people saying they’re negative. And they got tested six months ago. How many partners have they had since then? … If you’re saying to your partner, “I’m undetectable that means you’re taking care of herself.” You know you’re doing everything you can and being as healthy as you can.’

Pintauro has quit his job as a manager of a PF Chang restaurant and says he wants to spend a year spreading the word about the dangers of crystal meth and HIV.

‘I don’t want to be a hero, I don’t want to be the role model,’ he said. ‘I want to be the example. I want to be the example of what can happen if you get into drugs, if you’re being promiscuous, if you’re not taking care of yourself, if you’re not being checked, if you’re not living a healthy, responsible lifestyle.’
