In what was one of the most star-studded Walk of Fame ceremonies in recent memory, Hollywood screenwriting, producing and directing powerhouse Ryan Murphy received his much-deserved star on Hollywood Boulevard.
Before he took to the podium to accept the big honor, his ‘American Horror Story’ leading ladies Sarah Paulson and Jessica Lange made heartfelt remarks and spoke specifically on his dedication to making exciting, diverse and inclusive characters. Murphy’s close confidant, actress Gwyneth Paltrow and his so-called “producing brother” Brad Falchuck also joined in the ceremony to honor the Emmy-winning TV creator who is also responsible for mega hits “Glee,” “American Crime Story,” Nip/Tuck” and “Scream Queens.”
Also spotted in attendance were “Pose’s” Mj Rodriguez, Indya Moore, Dominique Jackson, Janet Mock and Our Lady J. “AHS” alums Emma Roberts, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Leslie Grossman, Dylan McDermott, Billie Lourd, Finn Wittrock, Cody Fern. Judith Light, Peter Krause, NeNe Leakes and Matthew Morrison rounded out the impressive list of A-list stars showing support.
Murphy’s two young children were also present for the occasion- and he hilariously joked that they would be tasked with keeping his new star bright and shiny (a comical nod to the rumors of Joan Crawford’s children being assigned the same duty after she received her Walk of Fame Star!)
Most recently, Ryan attended the 29th annual GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills where he presented the Stephen F. Kolzak Award to his “Boys in the Band” co-star Jim Parsons.
GLAAD had a chance to chat with Murphy moments after he received his big Hollywood honor where he spoke about his new plan to stop anti-LGBTQ politicians, and his words of wisdom for today’s queer youth.

2018 was an eye-opener for us all.
Avocados make their way into the hearts and stomachs of citizens around the world. Engineers are the new It girls. The Aussies can’t stop surfing. And the Russians have taken up jogging.
The Year in Swipe® brings you what’s trending on Tinder across the globe—from top Anthems and favorite foods to celebrity crushes, most talked about TV, swipe-worthy events and the most popular slang. What they say is true: If you want to know a generation’s true character, give them Tinder. Are we serious? Deadass.
You may think you’re alone in your own corner of the earth but rest assured, not only is the world swiping with you, they’re liking what they see. The data don’t lie—this is one good-looking planet, full of pizza vibes and possibility.
The Year in Swipe uncovered many things about the world we live in. It showed us how Ariana Grande sprinkled a bit of wokeness onto the world: She taught us that God is a Woman, which would be great news, if only she didn’t make so much less than the male gods.
It uncovered the shocking: Los Angeles is the top city in the world for Tinder users to Passport into (and you all pretend you can’t stand us … liars!) And the not-so-shocking: The Americans are all talking about gluten, though no one is eating it. Surely the Spaniards are laughing right now, over their croquetas de jamón.
It highlighted the things that bring us together, like Drake, pizza and sitcoms from the early 2000s:
- Drake’s In My Feelings was the #1 Spotify Anthem for Tinder users across all countries with Spotify, with Ariana Grande’s empowering hit, God is a Woman, making the top 10 in 6 countries, including the U.S., UK, Brazil, Spain, Australia and Japan.
- In the U.S., U.K. and Australia, the Friends ‘How You Doin?’ GIF reigned supreme. But in Brazil, Spain, France, Germany, Russia, India, Japan and South Korea, the Waving Fox took the top spot as the most-used GIF.
- Pizza was among the top 10 most mentioned foods in people’s bio across 9 different countries! Just proving that, no matter where you live, pizza is a universal language.
- Beer pairs well with pizza as one of the most popular emojis listed in bios, making it into the top 10 for all countries, except the UK (which preferred posting puppies), Germany (which chose wine) and Russia (who selected dancing).
And it showed us that many Europeans just say “Nope” to smoking:
- Users Germany, Spain and Russia each had the “no smoking” emoji within their top 10 most popular listed in bios.
Perhaps what it teaches us most of all, is that we are one world, with many quirks—some in common, some not—ever-curious to find out what’s around the bend.

Dave Marshall, a 29-year-old gay wrestler and personal trainer from Perth, Australia with a 6’3″ monster frame, is supporting suicide prevention in an unusual way: his OnlyFans account.

OnlyFans is a growing service that allows subscribers to see adult content from individuals for a monthly fee.
Marshall’s father took his own life last year, so he donates a portion of the proceeds to the suicide prevention organization Beyond Blue, GSN reported. He has raised approximately $3,600 for the organization.
Wrote Marshall on Instagram: “The reason the money I raise from my OnlyFans goes towards Beyond Blue is seeing every day how big depression and anxiety has become in society and almost overlooked. Stats on LGBT in this area are quite scary too so I hope I can in some way, give back to my community. Positivity is everything.”
Marshall came out as gay three years ago, around the time he began wrestling professionally after leaving a sales job.
“‘I had hooked up with guys in my early years of high school, although it was always in secret,” he told GSN, “I ended up in and out of relationships with girls. The last one when I was 18 – that lasted for seven years. I told her when we were 23 I was bi but [she said] as long as I loved her, she didn’t care.”
After he broke up with his girlfriend he started dating a man with whom he has since broken up. That ex told him to start an OnlyFans account, but he was unsure about it.
“After some thought, I did start it up with part [of the] proceeds going to Beyond Blue,” he told the website.
Wrote Marshall on Instagram: “I know my way of donating to my charity may be a bit different but the waves of positive messages from you guys has been a blessing! To those that don’t agree, Look around, there is so much negativity in the world today already, don’t add to that! Spread some positivity and love life!”

Trouble is, the straights are not spicing things up as much as Michael and Michael are, and that makes things a bit tense.
