In celebration of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall, New York City’s leading gay party producer, Jake Resnicow, is planning the biggest Pride music festival in history.

Taking place during WorldPride on Saturday, June 29, 2019, the We Party PRIDE FESTIVAL Main Event will bring the entire LGBTQ community and its allies under one spectacular roof and on one enormous dance floor at New York’s largest and most prestigious venue, the Jacob Javitz Center.

Located in the heart of Manhattan, the Jacob Javitz Center is a mammoth 1,800,000 square feet, covering the entire city block between 33rd and 34th Streets, 11th and 12th Avenues. It offers, by far, the largest capacity of all Pride venues. Tickets available now at PrideFestival2019.com. “The 50th anniversary of Stonewall will bring millions of people from all over the world to New York this Pride,” explains Jake Resnicow, recently named “Most Influential Person of the Year” by Out Magazine.

“This will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to celebrate our progress while working towards a better future. It will allow everyone to come together on one dance floor, in the city that started it all.”

The Stonewall riots were a series of spontaneous demonstrations by members of LGBTQ community against a police raid that took place June 28, 1969, at the Stonewall Inn in New York’s Greenwich Village. They are widely considered to have sparked the launch of the gay liberation movement and the modern fight for LGBTQ rights in the United States.

For the Pride Festival Main Event, Resnicow joins forces with WE Party, the producers behind WorldPride Madrid’s mega-events. World-renowned designer, Steve Lieberman, the foremost expert behind such music festivals as Electric Daisy Carnival, Ultra Music Festival and Coachella, has been tapped to oversee production. Sound will be by Jason Ojeda. The evening’s DJs and the special celebrity performer will be announced soon. All net proceeds will benefit prominent LGBTQ charities, including LifeBeat and the Stonewall Gives Back Initiative. “We are excited to a make this a celebration for the record books,” continues Resnicow. “Prepare to be amazed!”

Housing Works & Bailey House Merger Create Largest HIV Housing & Care Service Org in the Country

Housing Works, the nation’s leading HIV/AIDS advocacy and service organization with a chain of well-known businesses in New York City, and Bailey House, the nation’s first HIV/AIDS supportive housing provider, announced today the completion of the previously announced merger, making the combined organization one of New York’s largest health and human services providers.

“For more than 30 years, Bailey House has been a leader in providing housing and essential support services to individuals and families living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic illnesses,” said Charles King, co-founder and CEO of Housing Works. “This merger builds on Gina Quattrochi’s dynamic legacy of vigorous advocacy on behalf of New Yorkers with and affected by HIV/AIDS and continues the evolution of the Bailey House mission.”

The merger creates a new housing operations and development enterprise, which will retain the Bailey House name. Andrew Coamey, who previously served as Housing Works’ Senior Vice President for housing development, operations, and facilities, will serve as the executive director. Clients from both Housing Works and Bailey House will have access to expanded service offerings, including primary medical care. Housing Works will also extend its Federally Qualified Health Center to include Bailey House’s behavioral health program in East Harlem.

“With the merger complete, we are excited to unite forces with Housing Works to bolster service offerings for people with HIV/AIDS in New York City,” said Daniel W. Tietz, CEO of Bailey House who will step down after an initial integration period. “This will grant us the ability to jointly develop new, ground-up supportive and affordable housing under the Bailey House

brand. Together, we will help more low-income New Yorkers achieve the best possible health outcomes by expanding housing, healthcare, and behavioral health services for New Yorkers most in need.”

“Housing Works and Bailey House have a long and deep history of partnership,” said Housing Works President Matthew Bernardo. “This merger brings renewed focus to ending the HIV/AIDS epidemic in New York by 2020 and accelerate our efforts to improve access to housing, primary care, and mental health services in the state and across the country,”

The Bailey House Gala & Auction, scheduled for March 7, 2019, will remain the centerpiece of ongoing, year-round fundraising activities benefiting Bailey House’s housing programs and related services. Housing Works will also continue its calendar of fundraising events including Design on a Dime NYC scheduled for April 24-27, 2019.

Bruce Richman the head of Prevention Access posted on the U=U group on Facebook the following: I want to stress again how much this is a really important article from the Journal of the American Medical Association and our invaluable allies from National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), Drs. Fauci, Dieffenbach, and Eisinger provide the science, implications and unequivocal support of U=U.

I’m also beyond proud that this article starts by acknowledging the work of our campaign. I want our community to take note of this and let it sink in. The greatest minds in the field are continuing to graciously acknowledge what we have done together.

I know quite often that you (as I do) still face people and organizations that minimize and try to erase our work. Try not to be frustrated or angry. Think about how you challenged and pushed these folks, the status quo, the establishment — and you were right. It’s no wonder some would hope we go away. We remind them of their inaction, their indifference, their paternalism, and hypocrisy. We won’t go away. Let your victory and the reality of how many people you have helped protect you from all of that, and do your best to reach out with open arms to invite them on board. You made history! You are remarkable! #UequalsU #UUnity
