Bryan Fischer Blasts John Kasich: Attending a Gay Wedding Like Going to A Crack House ‘Grand Opening’

afr

Former American Family Association spokeshater Bryan Fisher was none too pleased with Ohio Gov. John Kasich’s rather forward-thinking (for GOP standards) response to a gay marriage question at last night’s debate.

Said Kasich:

John KasichWell, look, I’m an old-fashioned person here and I happen to believe in traditional marriage but I’ve said the court has ruled and I said we’ll accept it. And guess what? I just went to a wedding of a friend of mine who happens to be gay. Because somebody doesn’t think the way I do, doesn’t mean I can’t care about them or love them.

Fischer, who you would think knows a thing or two about crack, had this incredibly dumb (even for Bryan Fischer standards) thing to say on his radio program today in response to Kasich’s answer:

Again it depends on what you think of homosexual behavior…If you have somebody you loved and they were dealing crack and they were opening up a new crack house. They were having a grand opening celebration and they invited you to come and be a part of the grand opening celebration of this crack house would you go? Of course not.

Fischer later noted, “I’m not saying homosexuality and dealing crack are the same thing” before going on to basically reiterate that homosexuality and dealing crack are the same thing.

Caitlyn Jenner Discusses Her Sexuality In New 'I Am Cait' Teaser

Caitlyn Jenner Discusses Her Sexuality In New 'I Am Cait' Teaser

Caitlyn Jenner’s new friends are eager to know more about the 65-year-old’s experiences dating “as a trans woman,” but it’s not a subject that the former Olympian appears to have even given much thought.

In a teaser for an upcoming episode the docuseries “I Am Cait,” Jenner told her friends, “I’ve only been with women.” (Jenner split from Kris Jenner in 2013 after 22 years of marriage and had been married twice before.)

“I have bigger things than an orgasm to worry about,” she said. “I have bigger things to worry about than an orgasm.”

When many of her friends raised their hands to say they are more attracted to men than women, Jenner responded, “I don’t know. I’ve never been with a guy.”

This is the first time Jenner has really spoken about any aspect of her romantic life since her divorce from Kris. And when Jenner came out as transgender this past April during a “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer, the star, who had yet to reveal her female name, broached the subject of sexuality by stating that she’s attracted to women and emphasized the difference between gender and sexuality.

“There’s two different things here. Sexuality is who you personally are attracted to — who turns you on,” Jenner said. “But gender identity has to do with who you are as a person and your soul and who you identify with inside.”

“I Am Cait” airs Sunday at 8:00 p.m. ET on E!

At last, dying widower gets Texas officials to correct his late husband’s death certificate

At last, dying widower gets Texas officials to correct his late husband’s death certificate

Forty days after the US Supreme Court made same-sex marriage legal nationwide, John Stone-Hoskins has finally gotten the state of Texas to amend his late husband’s death certificate to reflect that they were married.

Stone-Hoskins’ husband James committed suicide in January and he himself has cancer with a prognosis of less than two months to live.

Stone-Hoskins received an amended death certificate on Thursday (6 August). He is now listed as ‘husband’ instead of ‘significant other,’ according to Towleroad.com.

He had said in court Thursday: ‘I have a terminal liver disease, melanoma, basal cell carcinoma, breast disease, a heart defect, in addition to a defective aorta, which was not discovered until recently. My doctors expect me to live another 45 to 60 days.

‘I also wish to have the dignity of being listed on my deceased husband’s death certificate.’

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton faced possible contempt charges for refusing to recognize a same-sex marriage after the Supreme Court’s June ruling.

Paxton and Kirk Cole, interim director of the Department of State Health Services, had been ordered to explain before a federal court next next week why the state would not provide  Stone-Hoskins with the amended death certificate for his husband.

Sam Smith

Looks like Sam Smith hasn’t let all his fame and fortune over the past two years get to his head, as the British crooner still knows how to let loose in public.

Scoping out Denver’s Red Rocks Amphitheater on Tuesday ahead of his concert at the venue that evening, Smith noticed a local news station interviewing two girls about their recent workout at the venue and decided to do a bit of videobombing in the background.

Smith, who threw up a peace sign and gave one of the interviewees bunny ears, went unrecognized during the sneak attack and later posted his amusement with the what went down on Instagram:

Everything We Know About 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

Everything We Know About 'American Horror Story: Hotel'

We now know who the main characters are in “American Horror Story: Hotel,” the real-life incident that inspired the season and when it will debut.

On Friday, the cast and creators of “AHS: Hotel” revealed a slew of new details about the upcoming season during the Television Critics Association summer press tour. We’ve compiled a list of everything we know about Season 5 of the anthology series so you’re fully prepared to check in on Oct. 7.

  • The name of the titular hotel will be Hotel Cortez, set in downtown Los Angeles.
  • The new season will be more like Season 1. Co-creator Brad Falchuk described “Hotel” as more “noir-y” and said the horror will be “dripping out of” the hotel.
  • The new season was inspired by a surveillance video of a girl who went missing after she entered an elevator in a downtown hotel. “She was never seen again,” Ryan Murphy said at the TCA panel. While it’s not confirmed, we have a strong theory that Murphy was referring to the death of Elisa Lam, a woman who was last seen in the lobby of LA’s Cecil Hotel in 2013 and was found dead in one of the hotel’s rooftop water tanks.
  • Lady Gaga plays Elizabeth, the owner of the hotel. Murphy described her as “a very wealthy social doyenne who is consumed with art and fashion and people.” Elizabeth also has a nefarious plan that unravels over the course of the season. Don’t expect any musical moments from Gaga this season, though.
  • Sarah Paulson is Hypodermic Sally, who lives at the hotel and hates Kathy Bates’ Iris. The actress described Sally as “a nasty gal” who is “quite dark.” “She’s sexy, she’s a drug addict,” Paulson said at the panel. “Not that drug addicts are sexy, but she’s sexy.” Sally also has a “budding something” with Wes Bentley’s character.
  • Kathy Bates is Iris, who Bates described as “very, very sexy.” Iris runs the hotel and has a relationship with Matt Bomer and Wes Bentley’s characters.
  • Denis O’Hare plays a character named Elizabeth Taylor, who the actor described as “a person inspired by the awesomeness” of Taylor’s movies, such as “Cleopatra” and “Butterfield 8.” In the show, Liz Taylor works at the hotel bar, the Blue Parrot Lounge, with Iris.
  • Matt Bomer is Donovan who has a “very interesting” relationship with Gaga’s Elizabeth.
  • Wes Bentley plays Detective John Lowell who is investigating gridly murders that lead him to check into the hotel. John is married to Chloë Sevigny‘s Alex who is dealing with a loss in the family.
  • Finn Wittrock plays Tristan Duffy, a male model who is “always looking for the next high and finds the biggest high in Lady Gaga.” Wittrock said Gaga “sees all of [him],” whatever that means.
  • Cheyenne Jackson plays Will Drake, a fashion icon who has moved from New York to Los Angeles.
  • Angela Bassett plays Romana Royale, an actress who Bassett said is “sexy as hell.” Romana has a strong, lasting relationship with Gaga’s character. She doesn’t live in the hotel, but she visits often.
  • Murphy revealed that characters from previous “AHS” seasons will begin checking in to “Hotel” starting with Episode 6.
  • Evan Peters will play Mr. March, and will be “evil” along with Paulson, Bates, Bassett and Bomer’s characters.
  • Lily Rabe will portray a famous serial killer on “Hotel.”
  • Naomi Campbell will guest star as a fashion editor who will face off with Gaga’s Elizabeth.
  • Darren Criss will reportedly appear on “Hotel” for a Halloween episode as Justin, a Silver Lake hipster, according to E! Online. Justin will apparently have some drama with Bates’ Iris after he has too many room service demands.

“American Horror Story: Hotel” will premiere on Oct. 7 on FX.

Donald Trump, once again, insults Rosie O’Donnell during Republican debate

Donald Trump, once again, insults Rosie O’Donnell during Republican debate

It was The Donald versus Rosie all over again.

During the first Republican presidential debate on Thursday (6 August), moderator Megyn Kelly asked current front-runner Donald Trump about his various insults aimed at women over the years.

‘You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals,’ Kelly began before being interrupted by Trump who said: ‘Only Rosie O’Donnell.’

Kelly replied: ‘No it wasn’t. For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell.’

The audience laughed.

“For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell,” Kelly responded before continuing her question.

O’Donnell soon tweeted: ‘try explaining that 2 ur kids.’

The Trump-O’Donnell feud began nearly a decade ago when O’Donnell, during her first stint as a co-host on ABC’s The View, ridiculed Trump for his handling of a Miss USA controversy calling him a ‘snake-oil salesman’ and mocked his hairstyle.

Trump responded by unleashing a tirade of insults aimed at O’Donnell’s weight (she has since lost more than 50 pounds) and has called her a ‘loser’ various times.

‘She’s an extremely unattractive person who doesn’t understand the truth. … I think she’s a terrible person … She has failed at everything she has done… She’s a bully and she sucker punches people,’ Trump said on CNN’s Larry King Live at that time.

O’Donnell, who rejoined The View last September the left again in February, reflected on the Trump insults last year.

‘Probably the Trump stuff was the most bullying I ever experienced in my life, including as a child,’ she told People Magazine. ‘It was national, and it was sanctioned societally. Whether I deserved it is up to your own interpretation.’

The debate was watched by 24 million people.
