Though even Beyonce is being blamed, the truth is that good old fashioned lies led to the repeal of HERO, the Houston equal rights ordinance. Kim Davis Loses Another Appeal at 6th Circuit: READ
Kim Davis has lost another legal battle in her protracted war against marriage equality.
The 6th Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday denied Davis’s latest request for a reprieve from issuing marriage licenses to same-sex couples.
Four couples sued her, and U.S. District Judge David Bunning then ordered her to issue the licenses. He later clarified his order to include all couples, not just the four who filed suit.
Davis’ attorneys have appealed that expanded order several times, arguing that the mandate to issue licenses should apply only to the four couples who filed suit. They received licenses during Davis’ five-day stint in jail for defying the court’s order.
The appeals court again rejected Davis’ request Thursday.

WATCH: Bloc Party Performs 'The Love Within' on 'The Late Late Show'
British indie rock band Bloc Party stopped by set of The Late Late Show With James Corden Wednesday to perform its new single, “The Love Within.”
The band, featuring out front man Kele Okereke, took a lengthy hiatus only to return with a different lineup and a new album, Hymns, set for release in late January.
Okereke told Rolling Stone the danceable new single, awash in synthesizers and upbeat lyrics, is about “embracing feelings of joy and being connected.”

Trans Woman Asks: 'You Really Want Me In The Same Bathroom As Your Husband?'
One trans woman in Chicago, Illinois, is making a bold, tongue-in-cheek statement in response to Houston, Texas, voters striking down proposed legislation this week that would extend nondiscrimination protections to the LGBT community, including enabling trans people to use bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity.
Kelly Lauren, a transgender woman who has performed as a drag entertainer for 37 years, shared the following photo on her Facebook account Wednesday with the caption “Houston, do you REALLY want me in the same restroom as your husband or boyfriend?”
Lauren decided to share the photo after Houston failed to pass Houston’s Equal Rights Ordinance, also known as HERO, which would have prevented discrimination on the basis of race, age, military status, disability and 11 other categories.
Much of the anti-HERO ad campaign involved fear-mongering tactics that aimed to induce anxiety in voters about transgender people using the bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity.
The photo of Lauren, who performs every Wednesday night at Hydrate Nightclub in Chicago, was originally shot by Matthew Mills for a class project.
“I am 54 years old and have been performing for about 37 years as a drag entertainer,” Lauren told The Huffington Post. “I am transgender… The picture was taken several months ago but I reposted it when all of this nonsense happened… All I have to say is that I would get in way more trouble in the men’s room than I could ever possibly in the women’s restroom because I am THAT kind of girl! [laughs]“
This certainly offers a new perspective to the bathroom debate, doesn’t it?
