‘Fag’

This is a self-portrait I took in front of the huge, lichen-crusted flank of St. Peter’s church, Brighton. In it, I am wearing a black cap with pearls around the rim and crystal earrings and a sparkly suit jacket. I am a fag, and I have heard that word spat at me in disgust many a time. So now I reclaim it. I am the fag smoking a fag and I am damn proud of it.
