How to Link Your International Bank Card

Follow these easy steps to activate Weixin Pay:

1. Link Your Bank Card

• Open WeChat and go to 「Me」>「Pay and Services」>「Wallet」>「Bank Cards」>「Add a Bank Card」>Provide your 16-digit bank card number and select the card type from the list.
• Alternatively, tap the camera icon to capture your card details and follow the relevant instructions until setup is complete.

2. Provide Identity Information

• Go to 「Me」>「Pay and Services」>「Money」.
• Under the payment QR code, tap on any unavailable service, such as 「Receive Money」 or 「Reward Code」and select 「Complete Now」
• Follow the instructions to complete the identity verification process, including uploading a clear photo of your ID.

3. Unlink Your Bank Card (After Your Trip)

• Navigate to 「Me」 > 「Pay and Services」 > 「Wallet」 > 「Bank Cards」.
• Select the linked bank card, tap 「Unlink」, enter your payment password, the card will be removed.

Important Information to know

• Once you have linked your bank card, you can tap on「Money」 to access the payment QR code. Ensure the “Default Payment” is set to your bank card, not the Wallet Balance.
• You can link your card with Weixin Pay without identity verification, with a spending limit up to RMB15,000. If you want to enjoy a higher spending amount and try more services like Red Packets or Receive Money, you may complete your identity verification.
• Always remember your 6-digit payment password, as it will be required to access payment s
• The Payment QR code is time-sensitive.
• An internet connection is required to use Weixin Pay.
• Only Chinese bank cards can be used to top up the Wallet Balance. International cards are not supported for this feature.
