Asked if Everyone Who Needs a Ventilator Will Get One, Trump Tells Reporter, ‘Don’t Be a Cutie Pie’: WATCH

President Donald Trump had a bizarre response Friday when asked whether everyone who needs a ventilator will be able to get one during the coronavirus crisis.
During a briefing at the White House, ABC’s Jonathan Karl asked Trump, “Are you able to guarantee, to assure these states, these hospitals, that everybody who needs a ventilator will get a ventilator?”
“Here’s what I’ll tell you: I think we’re in really good shape,” Trump responded. “This is a pandemic the likes of which nobody’s seen before. It think we’re in great shape. .. Ventilators are a big deal. We’ve distributed vast numbers of ventilators, and we’re prepared to do vast numbers. I think we’re in great shape. I hope that’s the case. I hope we’re going to have leftovers so we can help other people, other countries.”
Karl then repeated his question: “Will everyone who needs one be able to get a ventilator?”
“Look, don’t be a cutie pie, OK?” Trump responded. “Nobody’s every done what we’ve done. Nobody’s done anything like we’ve been able to do. And everything I took over was a mess. It was a broken country in so many ways, in so many ways other than this. We had a bad testing system, we had a bad stockpile system, we had nothing in the stockpile system. So I wouldn’t tell me what you’re — you know, like, being a wise guy.”

JON KARL: So everybody who needs a ventilator will be able to get one?

The Weekend Binge: Living the -very- high life in New York

Welcome to Queerty’s latest entry in our Queerantined: Daily Dose series. Every day as long as the COVID-19 pandemic has us under quarantine, we’ll release a suggested bit of gloriously queer entertainment designed to keep you from getting stir crazy in the house. Each weekend, we will also suggest a bingable title to keep you extra busy.
The Blaze: High Maintenance
High Maintenance represents one of the great success stories of the digital age. The series centers on a weed deliveryman known only as “The Guy,” as he sprints around New York City delivering his product to customers. Each episode focuses on The Guy interacting with new characters going through some sort of crisis. That extends to a number of LGBTQ characters who rely on The Guy for their supply…and maybe just a bit of talk therapy. High Maintenence started as web series on YouTube before landing on HBO; you can still find the early episodes floating on the web. The cable era, of course, lends itself to higher production value and technical polish. Either way, how delightful to experience New York during lockdown, and with a bit of human comedy to boot.
Streams on HBO, YouTube, iTunes, Amazon, & Hulu.
NRA Sues to Have Gun Stores in California Deemed ‘Essential’ During Coronavirus Lockdown
The NRA filed a lawsuit Friday seeking to have gun stores in California deemed essential businesses so they can remain open during the state’s coronavirus lockdown.
The Sacramento Bee reports: [Gov. Gavin] Newsom is among as the defendants listed in the lawsuit, as is Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva, who on Thursday issued a statement that gun stores in the county are not an essential business and that they must close to the general public. The NRA, along with several other plaintiffs including two individuals, filed the lawsuit Friday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Newsom has left the matter of whether firearm retailers are essential to the discretion of county sheriffs. “Municipalities who target lawful gun stores for closure aren’t promoting safety—by weaponizing their politics to disarm you and your loved ones, these shameless partisans are recklessly promoting a gun-control agenda that suffocates your self-defense rights when you need them most,” said Jason Ouimet of the NRA. The lawsuit contends that Newsom’s order, and Villanueva’s enforcement of that order, is depriving lawful gun owners of their Second Amendment rights.

The @NRA is exploiting the coronavirus to force as many sales of guns and ammunition as possible. They know that innocent people like you may die as a result and they are willing to use their dwindling resources on legal action to put your rights to life at risk. t.co/9XjikRFy9m

Now More Than Ever, Having Someone To Talk To Can Make A World Of Difference

Passport: Free to Everyone
The one-two punch of self isolation and business closures means we’re missing out on the everyday exchanges that make us human, from sharing a smile in Chem class to the chance to Netflix & Chill. And while we all know we need to stay home, the Tinder community has shown us that this doesn’t mean we have to be alone with our thoughts and a tower of Top Ramen.
In this challenging time, we see Tinder members finding new ways to connect. As an area becomes more affected by physically-isolating measures, we see new conversations happening there and those conversations last longer. This epidemic is also changing the tenor of connection in the hardest hit places. More people are using Tinder bios to show their concern for others (‘how is everyone’) instead of their life motto. Many of our current subscribers are even reaching out across the world, using the Passport feature, to find solidarity with matches 1000s of miles away. And that’s why we made our Passport feature, which allows you to connect with anyone, anywhere in the world, available for free to all members through April 30th.
Here’s how it works:

Our hope is that our members can use the Passport feature to transport themselves out of self-quarantine to anywhere in the world. They can check in on folks in their hometown, college town, or sister city, and find those across the world who are going through the same things. And we’re looking forward to seeing how many people learn how to say “hey” in another language.
