Now your OkCupid profile has a dedicated space where you can share your pronouns with potential matches.
OkCupid is proud to be the first and only leading dating app to create a dedicated space on profiles for LGBTQ daters to share their pronouns. Pronouns now appear right along with the other critical attributes that make you who you are, including your gender and sexual orientation. At OkCupid our goal is to empower daters to match on what matters to them and a dedicated space for your pronouns is an important way to share your authentic self and form meaningful relationships with deep human connections.
At OkCupid, we aim to provide a fun, affirming experience for all members. To ensure this new feature accurately represents and empowers members wanting to share their pronouns, we collaborated with GLAAD, a leader itself in the promotion of LGBTQ acceptance.
“Everyone should be able to express who they are, in their own words, and to have the opportunity to find romance with someone who respects and appreciates them,” said GLAAD Vice President of Programs Zeke Stokes. “By creating a dedicated space for personal pronouns on profiles, OkCupid has taken an important step forward that raises the bar for LGBTQ-inclusion on dating apps.”
If you want to share your pronouns on your OkCupid profile, here’s how:
Now you can add your pronouns to your profile.
This feature is available to non-binary people and other members of the LGBTQ community. Make sure you’ve selected your gender(s). You can do this by going to your profile and clicking on profile details (where you also enter your sexual orientation, relationship status, etc).
Once you’ve done this, you can update your pronouns on your profile (by the 📣) by either selecting a dropdown option (he/him, she/her, they/them) or typing in whatever pronouns you want — you can also remove pronouns here by selecting (leave this blank).
If you’ve entered your pronouns, they will show up in your details section for all other members who see your profile.
Match over what matters to you on OkCupid right now.

OkCupid’s new ACLU #RightToLove badge helps you filter for dates looking for love — and justice
In response to the Masterpiece Supreme Court decision, we’ve teamed up with the ACLU so you can easily find people who support the non-profit
Update 10/29/18: The ACLU #RightToLove Badge is back by popular demand! Just in time for the midterm elections, the badge’s return means you can find dates who will be voting in support of the same things you are. The badge will be available for the next three months.
At OkCupid, we match people over what they care about. As it turns out, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) is one of those things that really matters to them. Ninety percent of the OkCupid users who responded to the question “Do you support the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)?” said “yes.” That’s one of the highest agreement percentages of all of our thousands of questions.
Ninety percent of the OkCupid users who responded to the question “Do you support the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)?” said “yes.”All OkCupid users who publicly answer “yes” to the ACLU question will receive the #RightToLove profile badge.
It’s not surprising that so many of our users support the ACLU. First, the non-profit does amazing work to protect all individuals’ civil rights — fighting for LGBTQ rights, women’s rights, and the rights of those who are incarcerated, to just name a few. In fact, the ACLU is currently tirelessly working on the Masterpiece case after the Supreme Court’s ruling on the LGBTQ rights case earlier this week. At OkCupid, we also have a long history of inclusion, being the first dating app to offer 22 gender and 12 orientation options.
Secondly, in today’s political climate, people care more about their dates sharing their political and social beliefs than ever before; our data shows that differing beliefs on both are the biggest dating deal breakers today. So to help the majority of OkCupid users who want to find a date looking for love (and justice), today we’re introducing the #RightToLove profile badge in partnership with the ACLU. With the recent Supreme Court decision on Masterpiece, and June being LGBT Pride Month, there’s no better time to celebrate, and fight for, everyone’s right to love.
All users in the U.S. who publicly answer “yes” to the ACLU question will receive the badge. Responses to our questions have always worked to inform our algorithm and connect people over what’s important to them, but the #RightToLove badge will make it even easier for daters to connect with other supporters. The badge not only highlights their support on their profiles, but it will also promote supporters to one another.
Knowing your date supports the ACLU says a lot more about them than just that.
It’s not just support for the ACLU that these badge holders will likely share. Daters who support the ACLU are four times more likely to consider themselves feminist (and are looking to date a feminist, too). They’re also twice as likely to have responded “Hell no” to our question “Trump?” and 30% more likely to believe in climate change. So filtering for one deal breaker can end up saving you some time on filtering for other deal breakers (and makers) as well.
Wouldn’t you rather date someone who wears cargo shorts (and actually puts stuff in the pockets) than someone who doesn’t support basic human rights? The #RightToLove badge won’t just make you feel better about yourself and your matches — for every OkCupid user with the badge, we’ll donate a dollar to the ACLU, up to $50,000. “At OkCupid, we’re proud to be a champion of inclusivity because we believe you should be able to love whomever you want, regardless of your gender, sexual orientation, or ethnicity,” says Ariel Charytan, OkCupid’s CEO. “Nothing is more attractive than people who believe in every individual’s #RightToLove who they want to love.”
If you’d like to connect with someone who supports the ACLU, answer the question publicly here. The badge will be available through the summer so you can find great dates, no matter what you’re looking for.

As previously reported on Queerty, the sixth and final season of Schitt’s Creek is due to premiere on January 7, 2020.
Billboards promoting the final season have now started popping up, and one on Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles features a giant image of David (played by Dan Levy) kissing love interest Patrick (played by Noah Reid). The two characters got engaged in the last season of the show.
An image of one such billboard was photographed by comic Jack Kelly and posted to Instagram.
Levy saw the image and re-shared it, with the message: “F*ck yes we did. Shine bright, friends. Very grateful for @poptv and @cbc and their support on this campaign that my teenage self would never have dreamed to be true. ”

Levy is gay in real life. He stars in the show alongside his real-life dad, Eugene Levy.
The Canadian sitcom, which garnered four Emmy nominations earlier this year and scooped a GLAAD award for Dan Levy, follows the misadventures of the once-wealthy Rose family as they try to recover after losing their fortune. Their only option: move to the tiny city of Schitt’s Creek, which they bought as a joke birthday gift for their son in the early 1990s.
It airs on CBC in Canada and Pop TV in the US. The show has included several LGBTQ storylines in its previous five seasons.
“Schitt’s Creek has become a pop culture phenomenon fueled by the most talented cast and the most passionate fans in all of television, and the final season is sure to be weekly must-watch TV as we see what happens to the Roses,” Pop TV president Brad Schwartz said when the final season was announced.
“It is gut-wrenching to say goodbye, but we know this final season will deliver even more of the heart and humor that has made the series one of the best ever.”
The show has picked up a large LGBTQ following. Earlier this week, at a Schitt’s Creek pop-up promotion in New York City. The recreations of the Schitt’s Creek set – specifically Rose Apothecary – provided the perfect backdrop for one man to get down on his knee and propose to his boyfriend.
“I felt that the Schitt’s Creek pop-up was the perfect spot to express my commitment,” John told People of his proposal to partner Jonathan. “We bonded over the true meaning of the show like thousands of others have. This was by far the most special night of our lives.”
House Debate and Final Vote on Trump Impeachment: LIVE VIDEO
The U.S. House of Representatives will engage in a debate and final vote on the impeachment of President Donald J. Trump starting at 9 am ET.
Late on Tuesday, Trump sent a wildly unhinged 6-page letter to House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (you can read it here) accusing the House of an “illegal, partisan attempted coup” among other things.
