Colton Haynes Publicly Responds To Being Called “The Worst” By Noah Galvin

After being dragged through the mud by 22-year-old Real O’Neals star Noah Galvin, it’s only natural Colton Haynes has something to say.
In case you missed it, Galvin gave an interview with Vulture in which he had this to say about Haynes’ coming out process:
“That’s not coming out. That’s fucking pussy bullshit. That’s like, enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a dick or two. That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.”
Last month, Haynes gave an interview to Entertainment Weekly in which he discussed the hubbub surrounding his sexuality.
EW wrote:
“It was a complete shock. I wasn’t ready to be back in the headlines,” Haynes, who is in fact gay but has never publicly addressed his sexuality (and, like many others on his path, took advice early in his career to subdue it). “I should have made a comment or a statement, but I just wasn’t ready. I didn’t feel like I owed anyone anything. I think in due time, everyone has to make those decisions when they’re ready, and I wasn’t yet. But I felt like I was letting people down by not coming forward with the rest of what I should have said.”
Was it the most “hey look at me!” coming out? Nope.
Could it have happened sooner? Sure, it was a fairly well-known “secret.” But we think the important thing is Haynes got there eventually.
That clearly wasn’t enough to satisfy the young Real O’Neals actor.
To Haynes’ credit, he took the high road when he responded to Galvin via Instagram:
Jeremy Jordan’s Cousin Released from ‘Pray Away the Gay’ Facility After Viral Campaign
Actor Jeremy Jordan, who started a GoFundMe campaign to help with legal expenses to rescue his 17-year-old cousin Sarah from an ‘ex-gay’ conversion facility in Texas, where she was placed against her will, reports that Sarah is going to be released.
Great news! She’s out! In 5 days, you helped Sarah get released! Details on the GFM page. THANK YOU. #SaveSarah t.co/iJK4U4ZwUi
— Jeremy Jordan (@JeremyMJordan) June 9, 2016
Says an update on the campaign:
We have an important update. We have just been informed that Sarah has been released from the facility. We don’t know the details, but we believe that this page, and the willingness of you all to share Sarah’s story had a great deal to do with this. We don’t yet know what this means for the legal case — we need to consult with our attorney and, when we are able, with Sarah about how or whether to continue. In the interim, we are not requesting additional donations at this time. As we’ve previously stated, if the lawsuit terminates, we will use all of the money that you so generously contributed to pay accrued legal bills for our lawyer and Sarah’s. If there are any funds left over, they will be placed in a trust for Sarah to help her with life”s next steps so that she can attend college and lead a normal life being who she is and loving whom she chooses.
We are understandably excited by today’s developments, and hopeful for what this means for Sarah’s ability to live her life as her true self. And we are hopeful that one day soon all the other LBGT teens out there who face rejection by their families and attempts to “fix” their sexuality will be accepted for who they are.
We will update this page when we know more. Thank you again for your generous contributions and kind words for Sarah. We look forward to when we are able to speak to Sarah and share with her all the incredible and inspiring words that you and others have written to her during this traumatic time.
The campaign, which made national headlines, raised more than $64,000 in five days.

In the 1960s and ’70s, even as other nations elected women leaders, many Americans thought a woman running for president was a laughing matter.

Colton Haynes Claps Back at Noah Galvin: ‘When Did He Become The Judge of What’s Appropriate?’

Colton Haynes blasted actor Noah Galvin on Instagram on Thursday, responding to Galvin’s criticism of how Haynes publicly came out as gay.
In an interview with Vulture, Galvin said,
“That’s not coming out. That’s f*cking pussy bullsh*t. That’s like, enough people assume that I sleep with men, so I’m just going to slightly confirm the fact that I’ve sucked a dick or two. That’s not doing anything for the little gays but giving them more masturbation material.”
Galvin later apologized for those remarks, saying,
“To Colton Haynes and to the LGBTQ youth, especially those who have embraced our show, I have no right to dictate how or when anybody comes out of the closet; I know how difficult and scary the process of coming out can be, and the last thing I would ever want to do is make it scarier.”
Shortly thereafter, Haynes posted his response to Instagram:
It’s extremely ironic that only a month ago I was tweeting this kid & saying that he should win an Emmy for his work. Then today he returns the favor by calling me a pussy & the worst to the entire world. Let me just clarify, I’ve never met this kid, so for him to judge me without even meeting & having no idea the struggles I’ve been through or where I come from is absolutely uncalled for and quite frankly embarrassing on his part. Since when is a three pg article in Entertainment Weekly not an appropriate way to come out? And since when did he become the judge of what’s appropriate. Shouldn’t we all be supporting each other? Enjoy all of your success. You’re young kid…hopefully you’ll eventually learn a thing or two. Good luck. I’m sure I’ll seeya around. – Colton Pussy Haynes
