Hillary Clinton Uses Republican Leaders to Blast Trump Racism in New Ad: WATCH

Hillary Clinton Uses Republican Leaders to Blast Trump Racism in New Ad: WATCH

Donald Trump racism

Hillary Clinton’s campaign is using Mitch McConnell, Paul Ryan, Newt Gingrich, Ana Navarro, and Senator Bob Corker in a new ad blasting Trump’s racist remarks about Judge Gonzalo Curiel, who is presiding over fraud lawsuits against Trump University.

The WSJ reported:

In an interview, Mr. Trump said U.S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel had “an absolute conflict” in presiding over the litigation given that he was “of Mexican heritage” and a member of a Latino lawyers’ association. Mr. Trump said the background of the judge, who was born in Indiana to Mexican immigrants, was relevant because of his campaign stance against illegal immigration and his pledge to seal the southern U.S. border. “I’m building a wall. It’s an inherent conflict of interest,” Mr. Trump said.

HACKED. Mark Zuckerberg’s Twitter and Pinterest accounts hijacked: “We don’t know for sure how OurMine Team pulled off the hacks, but the group is claiming it was all thanks to the LinkedIn password dump from a few weeks ago. Millions of LinkedIn user account details leaked online last month, with the company reacting by invalidating the credentials and contacting affected members to reset their passwords. But the story doesn’t end there, because as we all know, many people like to reuse the same password on different online services. Including Mark Zuckerberg, apparently.”

VEGAS BABY. Lady Gaga getting Las Vegas residency? “Following reports Justin Timberlake is eyeing a deal to be one of the resident headliners at the newly renovated Park Theater at Monte Carlo, and he may be joined by Lady Gaga. A new report from the Las Vegas Sun claims Gaga could be inking a deal to perform there for a string of dates as well.”

blackfishFREE MORGAN. SeaWorld Orca in Tenerife seen demonstrating behavior that appeared suicidal. “Morgan was filmed slumping motionless at the side of a pool for more than ten minutes at Loro Parque in Spain’s Canary Islands. It comes as footage appeared to show the orca repeatedly banging her head against a metal gate in a desperate attempt at escape just weeks earlier.”

JUNK IN THE TRUNK. Bryan Hawn on how to create the perfect derriere: “As a young boy, I dreamed of having a muscular physique. I bought t-shirts and jeans one size too small, hoping that they would cling to my body and enhance the little muscles that I had developed. But all this did was draw more attention to the beanpole physique that I clearly had standing at 6’1″, hoping and praying for the day the scale would hit 150 pounds. I was fascinated with muscle and fitness magazines and fantasized about slabs of muscle bulging out of my clothes: a rock solid chest, big biceps and forearms and muscular legs. But more than anything, I wanted that perfect round, tight, bubble butt that was so entrancing as it moved in a pair of jeans.”

Bryan Hawn

BEARDS. GQ says they aren’t over: “Some proper scruff provides a touch of organized chaos, and can dramatically elevate your look with only minimal input. (All you have to do is stop shaving, really.)”

KANYE. Pandemonium breaks out at surprise concert at NYC’s Webster Hall which was then shut down: “Chants of “Pablo! Pablo!” filled the night air outside of the venue ahead of West’s performance, which had not yet been unannounced as of 1 a.m. local time. The rapper booked the last-minute show as a makeup for Governors Ball, which canceled its day three lineup due to inclement weather. Rumors of a set a Hot 97 Summer Jam followed along with cryptic tweets of a to-be-announced venue. But once word started spreading of a Webster Hall gig, thousands swarmed on 13th Street in the East Village, with one observer noting “near-riot” conditions, with people on top of cars. “It’s pandemonium.”

TENNIS. Novak Djokovic wins French Open, completes career Grand Slam: “The victory made Djokovic the eighth man to complete the tennis career Grand Slam. More remarkably, he became the third man after Don Budge in 1938 and Rod Laver in 1962 and 1969 to hold all four of the major singles titles at the same time. Call it a Djoker Slam in this instance.”

Djokovic celebrated on Facebook Live after the win:

WILLY WONKA STYLE. McDonald’s Japan is giving away a Golden McNugget. “One lucky person will win the 1.8-ounce golden chunk, reportedly worth about $1,500. Competition entrants have to follow clues on Twitter and around Japan to find the campaign’s mascot, a mysterious nugget thief called Kaito Nuggets, and the bejeweled nugget itself inside a five-piece McNugget pack.”

ANIMAL INSTINCTS. Lion pounces at toddler at zoo in Japan.

HRC’s Municipal Equality Index to Add 98 New Cities to 2016 Report

HRC’s Municipal Equality Index to Add 98 New Cities to 2016 Report

Post submitted by Collen Kutney, State and Municipal Program Manager

For the first time, The Municipal Equality Index (MEI), in conjunction with the Equality Federation, asked members and supporters to vote on the new cities to be rated.

The MEI is a nationwide evaluation of municipal laws, policies and services and rates them on the basis of their inclusiveness of LGBTQ people who live and work there. Previously, the MEI chose cities based on several criteria including the 50 state capitals, the top 200 largest cities in the country, cities with a high proportion of same-sex couples, the top five largest cities in each state and the cities with the two largest public universities (undergraduate and graduate enrollment).

The MEI rates each municipality in five categories: Non-Discrimination Laws, Municipality as Employer, Municipal Services, Law Enforcement and Relationship with the LGBTQ Community.

With the help of the Equality Federation and state and local advocates, five cities were nominated in each state. Members and supporters were asked to choose two cities they would like to see rated in the MEI. The nominees were small and large cities from different regions of the state.

Ninety-eight cities will be added to the MEI to create a total of 506 cities rated across the country. The 2016 MEI will be published in the fall. To see the full 2015 MEI, click here.

John Oliver Breaks Oprah’s Record for Biggest Giveaway in TV History: WATCH

John Oliver Breaks Oprah’s Record for Biggest Giveaway in TV History: WATCH

Oprah Oliver

Last night, John Oliver took on the debt-buying industry and decided to lead by example: he created his own debt-buying company called Central Asset Recover Professionals, short for, “C.A.R.P., after the bottom-feeding fish.”

“Almost every step of how this industry is allowed to operate is problematic,” Oliver explains.

TV Line’s Michael Ausiello writes:

Soon after, he was offered nearly $15 million in medical debt for less than $60K. But instead of setting out to collect the debt, he decided to forgive it, partly because “it was the right thing to do” and partly to claim bragging rights to “the largest onetime giveaway in television history.” The previous record holder, per Oliver? Winfrey, who back in 2004 gifted each member of her entire studio audience with a free car, to the tune of $8 million.

Oliver ended the show but playfully shouting, “F–k you, Oprah!”

Gay Couple Records Uber Driver Calling Them ‘Faggots’ in Homophobic Rant: LISTEN

Gay Couple Records Uber Driver Calling Them ‘Faggots’ in Homophobic Rant: LISTEN

thomas

Lucy Thomas (above), the CEO of the anti-bullying organization Project Rockit, was riding in an Uber in Melbourne with girlfriend Chelsea Lang, when they found themselves the target of a homophobic driver.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports:

The driver, whom they know only as John, said he “hated” football because the players were “a bunch of faggots touching each other”, according to Thomas.”He went on a bit of a rant; he was cheery and jovial but he was using really offensive language,” she says.

Thomas told John she was offended by his words, which she says also included “Abo”, “spastic”, “retard” and “a six letter word with two Gs”.

“He was saying it’s okay for him to use that word [‘Abo’] because he has Aboriginal blood,” Thomas says.

John asked if the couple was gay. When Thomas’ girlfriend answered “yes”, “that’s when he really changed”, Thomas says.

“He stopped being cheery and a cloud came over him. He was very aggressive and the tone changed.”

She recorded what followed next on her smartphone.

After being threatened by our @uber driver, my girlfriend and I stood up to him and recorded it. LISTEN: t.co/5IIdpBLSHJ #homophobia

— Lucy Thomas (@lucylockit_) June 5, 2016

Thomas said she was terrified after getting out of the cab and though Uber fired the driver, she remains fearful for her personal safety since the driver knows her address.

Hillary Clinton Wins Democratic Primary in Puerto Rico, Inching Toward Clinching

Hillary Clinton Wins Democratic Primary in Puerto Rico, Inching Toward Clinching

clinton_puertorico

Hillary Clinton has won the Puerto Rico Democratic primary ahead of a major showdown in California on Tuesday.

The NYT reports:

Two days before Tuesday’s primaries in California and five other states, Mr. Sanders repeated his pledge not to concede even if Mrs. Clinton acquires enough delegates to reach 2,383, the threshold for securing the nomination.

A win in California is critical to Mr. Sanders’s plan to stay in the race through the convention and would give him a significant lift.

But with her victory in the Puerto Rico primary on Sunday, Mrs. Clinton is only 28 delegates short of the threshold and will most likely declare victory on Tuesday.

Mr. Sanders, however, insists that the convention will be contested because he is still lobbying superdelegates — party officials and state leaders who cast their final votes at the convention — to withdraw support from Mrs. Clinton and back him instead.
