Here’s Why It Sucks Being The “Token Gay”

Finding community is tough, whether you’re in a major metro area or out in the boonies. We have to be thankful for the folks who regularly show up for us, and show up for them in return.

Finding queer family is just as important. It’s great to get along with all sorts of different types, but there’s a sisterhood that comes from forging queer friendships that make life just shine brighter.

These guys on Whisper understand that, but don’t know how to make the next move.

We recommend joining a gay sports team, book club, bird watching group — anything that opens up your social circle to the possibility of forging new connection.

What have you got to lose?!

I

As a gay guy, I occasionally feel like an accessory when having a night out with straight female friends.

All of my friends are straight...maybe that

I

It

I hate having all straight friends because I end up falling for them. I

I can only assume having gay friends is better than having straight friends when you

Even though I

My only gay friends are my exes. This is so unacceptable to me because hanging out with straight people all the time is making me dull lol

Why do I still feel at odds with my straight friends? They all know that I

When I was young and in school I used to have a bunch of gay friends. Now I

I

I

I feel like I

I

I only have straight friends which is annoying because they don

All my friends are straight. I want a gay best friend. My boyfriend is great, but I want a bromance too lol

Martha Stewart Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore and Ellen DeGeneres learned a valuable cooking lesson on Friday.

You can invite Martha Stewart over to help you make an autumn meal, but that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s going to worry if you’re enjoying it, or, in Barrymore’s case, recognize that you exist.

Open Question: Is it harder for the second sibling to come out gay?

Open Question: Is it harder for the second sibling to come out gay?
There’s just my older sister and I plus a step brother. My sister is Bisexual but has so far only had girlfriends. My family were quite good when she came out but occasionally still make remarks and jokes about it. I am 15 and unsure about my own sexuality because I’m mostly attracted to boys I could see my self with a girl if she was amazing. Obviously I havnt told anyone.
But especially my step mum keeps saying things like: your the only daughter left to give me a grandchild( she doesn’t realise that LGBT can still have children) and she’s always saying that Bisexual people are greedy for liking both and I slways reply saying their not as fussy
Would people agree that it’s harder for the second child to come out?

Open Question: Why don't people realize that people with pedopohilia or other mental issues have feelings too?

Open Question: Why don't people realize that people with pedopohilia or other mental issues have feelings too?
There is a massive stigma, prejudice, and hate towards people like me who are attracted to anyone regardless of age… or who have attraction to children too(pedophilia)

It’s not like I want this attraction or asked for it. And it’s not like I’m going to act on it either, but I know everyone will say they’d keep their kids away from me. What the hell? It’s not like you stay away from people who are attracted to you, or keep your teenage children away from other people who are attracted to them their age. Plenty of people attracted to someone can be around that person without raping or molesting them. Sorry to anyone who found this in LGBT before I moved it. Yahoo put it in the LGBT section at first. I was intending for psychology section.

Open Question: Should consirvtives be educated about the LGBT a bit more?

Open Question: Should consirvtives be educated about the LGBT a bit more?
I mean when a gay person causes violence there is some people who will blame all gay people like it repusent all gay people. I mean really I don’t say the violence Christians cause are all Christian people. And really I don’t understand why Christians want to say myths about gay people when they are low educated about gay people. I’m saying they think gay and straight is someone’s sexual behavior really it’s not. And there are stereotypes that gay people lisp and they don’t like sports and they only like new pop music. Really I am gay and my boyfriend loves football and he’s athletic and me I like my Beethoven and I don’t know if I lisp anymore but it doesn’t mean someone is gay I mean if someone studderd does that mean they are straight. My point is being gay means your attracted to the same-sex that’s all. But really should consirvtives be educated about gay people? Please don’t judge my spelling I am only 16 and really I’ve not been taught how to spell I’ve only been taught on how to sound out the words.
