Italian Football President To Gays: Ew! Stay Away From Me!

Screen shot 2015-11-05 at 11.20.55 AMThe president of the Italian Football Federation, Carlo Tavecchio, has a message for the gay people of the world: Stay away!

Newly released recordings of Tavecchio speaking to the online publication Soccer Life in June have surfaced on the Internet. In them, Tavecchio is asked about the then-recent sale of an amateur soccer league’s headquarters to an Italian real estate mogul named Cesare Anticoli.

“It was bought by that lousy Jew Anticoli,” Tavecchio allegedly responds.

Later in the tape, he makes a jab at gay people.

“I don’t have anything against gays,” the 72-year-old allegedly says, “but it’s better to keep them away from me!”

Mr. Tavecchio, if you’re reading, we’re pretty sure no gay man will have a problem with keeping his distance from you.

Since the story broke, Tavecchio has claimed he’s the victim of an elaborate blackmail scheme and that he has absolutely no recollection of making the remarks, suggesting the tapes must have been “manipulated.”

Hmmm. Or maybe he was “drugged” like Yusef Mack? Oh wait.

But his excuses aren’t stopping local Jewish and gay rights groups from calling for him to be ousted from the Italian Football Federation.

Renzo Ulivieri, the president of the Italian coaches’ association, said whether or not blackmail was involved, Tavecchio’s alleged remarks were still “out of place.”

“Certain words shouldn’t be pronounced by anyone,” Ulivieri said, “and certainly not by the president of the Italian Football Federation.”

What do you think, fellas? Would you have any problem “staying away” from Mr. Tavecchio? Vote in the poll below.

Could you resist Carlo Tavecchio?

Texas School Reportedly Fires 2 Staff Members For Refusing To Accept Transgender Boy – VIDEO

Texas School Reportedly Fires 2 Staff Members For Refusing To Accept Transgender Boy – VIDEO

Screen Shot 2015-11-05 at 11.03.18 AM

The Houston Equal Rights Ordinance may have been defeated, but one area school is treating transgender children with dignity and respect.

The Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center in Katy, a Houston suburb, reportedly fired two staff members for refusing to accept a transgender boy as a boy and call him by a boy’s name.

Fox 26, which did a horrible job of reporting on HERO, is still referring to the boy as a girl:

“It caused confusion,” says one employee. At Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center on Clay Road in Katy, Madeline Kirksey says last week she and her staff were told a six-year-old student is transgender. According to Kirksey, the child’s parents cut the girl’s hair short and Children’s Lighthouse Learning Center workers were instructed to start calling the girl a boy and by a boy’s name.

Kirksey was a manager at the school and says she suggested informing all parents. Instead, school administrators allegedly gave staff a handout to refer to if students have questions.

“I don’t think we should be talking to other people’s children who are under the age of 18 about being transgender,” says Kirksey.

The school reportedly handed out a set of guidelines on dealing with transgender students, which said things like “Accord them the same respect you wish for yourself,” “Help defend their dignity,” “Educate yourself and your students” and, “Like the first black student in a white school 30 years ago, the transgender student today faces a population that finds them strange and frightening.”

But Kirksey insisted on notifying parents about the transgender boy. Her termination letter states, “When requested by parent and management to call a transgender child by the child’s new name, Madeline does not follow instructions.” A teacher at the school also says she was fired for raising concerns about the transgender student:

“One day, she wanted to be a girl, the next day she wanted to be a boy,” says Kirksey. “The other kids are confused as well, calling her a boy and she would start screaming, ‘I’m not a boy!’”

According to its website, Children’s Lighthouse operates educational childcare centers in eight states, and serves children ages 6 weeks to 12 years.

WATCH: Kelly Clarkson and Josh Groban Sing Phantom of the Opera's 'All I Ask of You'

Operatic pop singer Josh Groban invited Kelly Clarkson onstage during the filming of his PBS special scheduled to air this holiday season.

The two LGBT allies performed a rousing “All I Ask of You” from the Phantom of the Opera soundtrack, the same song they recorded for Groban’s 2015 Stages Broadway musical album.

And, what a treat it is to hear it live!

If you think Clarkson sounds resplendent on all the pop songs she covers, wait until you hear her nail this one. Those high notes! That control. And, Groban’s no slouch either.

Kansas Teacher Asked To Resign After Showing Anti-Gay Bullying Film

Kansas Teacher Asked To Resign After Showing Anti-Gay Bullying Film

A Kansas teacher was asked to resign after showing his students an anti-bullying film following an anti-gay incident which took place in the classroom.

Last month, Tom Lehy, a social studies teacher who has been at Conway Springs Middle School in Conway Springs, Kansas, since 1997, showed “Love Is All You Need” in three eighth-grade history classes, the Wichita Eagle reported. The 2013 short film is about a young straight girl who is bullied to the point of suicide in a world where being gay is the “norm.” Lehy said he decided to show the video after a class project in which students were asked to create fictional colonies, but he noticed that there was at least one group that said gay people were not allowed in their colony.

“Then the issue of gay vs. straight came up, and a lot of them were not allowing gays into their colony and stuff like that… There were some hard feelings. Kids were getting upset,” Lehy said. He said that he showed the film because he aimed to show something “important.”

Parents were upset with the film’s graphic content, according to KWCH, and superintendent Clay Murphy told the network Lehy did not get permission to show it to students. Lehy, who planned to retire next year, is currently on leave and said he does not expect to return to teaching.

“I loved what the message of the video was, but I should have done it in a different way and I understand what the superintendent and the board are having to do,” Lehy told KWCH. “I hold nothing against them at all.”

School officials were not immediately available for further comment.

Boxer Yusaf Mack Says That, Actually, He’s Not Bi, He’s Gay

Boxer Yusaf Mack Says That, Actually, He’s Not Bi, He’s Gay

mack8-300x234Another turn in the seemingly never ending story of boxer Yusaf “Mack Attack” Mack. Just days after coming out as bisexual, the 35-year-old self-proclaimed “straight father-of-ten” now says that, actually, on second third thought, he’s gay.

In a new interview taped earlier this week with Fox 29 in Philadelphia, Mack told reporter Quincy Harris: “I’m tired of holding it in. It is what it is. I live my life. I’m gay,” adding that he’s been aware of his sexuality for “about eight years.”

This is quite the reversal from seven days ago.

Last week, Mack denied his involvement in a gay skin flick that appeared on the website DawgPoundUSA.com. He told Philly.com that he had absolutely no memory of making the tape and suggested the production company had drugged him. After DawgPoundUSA.com released a statement accusing Mack of slander, the boxing champ walked back the whole “I was drugged” story and admitted he was “completely aware and fully conscious during the film.”

Now, about that skin flick… Mack says it was the only one he ever did, and that he had no idea what the response would be. He also said he was surprised when people saw it and recognized him: “I didn’t think nobody from Philadelphia would see it!”

And as for why he filmed it in the first place, Mack said he was desperate.

“I was down and out,” he explained. “I asked friends, they wouldn’t help me, so I did what I had to do.”

The release of the tape, he added, has “hurt” him and his children. He claims his oldest daughter, who is 23 (which means he had her when he was 12), told him he should kill himself after the embarrassment he’s inflicted upon the family.

But he’s not letting all that get him down.

“I’m free, I’m happy,” he said. “The truth is out, and I’m sorry. … I’m still me. So when you see me on the streets, I’m still Yusaf Mack.”

Sia Debuts Kickass Music Video for Adele-Inspired Power Anthem ‘Alive’ – WATCH

alive

Sia has released the official music video for her new single, “Alive”, and as you might expect, Sia herself is nowhere to be found.

Like her video for “Elastic Heart”, Sia has opted to have a young girl act as her surrogate. Rather than dancer Maddie Ziegler, she’s chosen a young martial arts badass who brings some appropriately fierce intensity to bear in a video for a song about overcoming adversity.

Another visual shift here is the presence of a two-toned blonde and black-haired wig as the central icon for the song and presumably her new LP as well, This Is Acting. Like all the other songs on that forthcoming record, “Alive” was originally intended for another artist. Sia co-wrote “Alive” with Adele, which was intended for Adele’s new album 25. Said Sia, “It’s about [Adele’s] life, so I now sing a song from [Adele’s] perspective.” After the song didn’t make the cut for the British songbird’s latest effort, Sia recorded it herself.
