Caitlyn Jenner Is Finally Free In Emotional New Promo For ‘I Am Cait’ – WATCH

caitlyn

In a new promo for her E! reality series I Am Cait, Caitlyn Jenner is shown up close and personal with her family for the first time since transitioning.

The video is captioned, “Sometimes, it can take a lifetime, to start living.”

Jenner’s mother shares an emotional confession in the video about Caitlyn’s transition, saying, “My first feeling was, I lost my son. Then I thought, ‘You know what? I’m gaining.’” Caitlyn herself is also clearly emotional in the new spot that shows the highs and lows of her journey thus far. In one scene she sabers a bottle of champagne celebrating that Caitlyn is finally free. In another, she tears up as she says she just wants her kids to be “proud of their daddy.”

The promo is not without its moments of lightheartedness, though. Going through her closet with daughter Kim Kardashian, Caitlyn points out a dress she loves to which Kim says, “Mom has that.”

This latest video released by E! appears to show Caitlyn speaking to a group of LGBT youth. She tells them, “Hang out with the people who love you and respect you.” She then cheers them on, shouting, “We’re all beautiful.”

Caitlyn recently started a blog that will focus on her journey and on issues of concern to the LGBT community. In her first post Caitlyn writes,

Up until now, I have totally isolated myself from the transgender community so I have a lot of catching up to do. I feel such a responsibility to this courageous group to try to get it right and tell all sides of the story. To me, that’s always the biggest question: am I doing it right?

REVIEW: The Hospital Club, London

REVIEW: The Hospital Club, London

This private members club was once as difficult to get inside as the social circles of its highly esteemed, eccentrically creative clients. But now this lovingly restored, central London bolthole has opened its doors for the first time to non-members – if you’re lucky enough to get your hands on a key to one of the immaculately designed bedrooms…

Like many good ideas, Paul Allen and Dave Stewart hatched their plan to restore the Hospital Club and fill it with wonderful, creative minds, one night over a drink in Covent Garden. In 1996 Paul bought the boarded up, shell of a building and three years later the renovations began. It wasn’t until 2004 that the club officially opened its doors – but only to its private members.

Fast forward 11 years, and as The Hospital Club moves into its second decade, it has embraced a new era of inclusivity in the form of 15 sumptuously designed bedrooms that grant their inhabitants access to the Club’s seven floors of bars, restaurants, lounges, and even a screening room.

The rooms, ranging from small crash pads for party animals who missed the last tube home, to large chic suites with their own outside spaces for long, intimate, summer nights, have all been designed by Russell Sage – the man responsible for the eclectic interiors throughout the rest of the club.

Carrying on The Hospital Club’s reputation for finding, nurturing, and showcasing interesting creative talent within its walls, each room also features a selection of original artwork from an emerging artist from the Club’s community. Going beyond just hanging their work on the walls, The Hospital Club assigns each artist a room to curate, meaning their own visual aesthetic punctuates the stylish, comfortable interiors throughout each room.

This means that choosing a room is kind of like a surprise pick ‘n mix – you know roughly what you’ve chosen but the end result is both a surprise and a delight. So you can imagine our excitement upon checking in to this esteemed establishment before being led to our room by a suave, attractive gentleman from reception.

the_hospital_club_lounge_london

Swinging back the room door, our host revealed an ultra-modish, 70s inspired suite complete with warm wood walls and velvet furnishings. Giving us a quick tour of the room, he gave a quick nod towards a black, lacquered, locked box inside in the wardrobe which he knowingly described as an ‘additional, alternative bedroom mini bar’ (cue insatiable curiosity), told us he loved our work (always nice to meet a GSN reader), and then promptly left us to explore our psychedelic surroundings.

Our room was wonderful; and it’s not just the sophisticated design and comfortable furnishings that make your stay so enjoyable – it’s the little creative extras that add a personal touch and complete the experience. Like the cocktail trolley complete with ice, shaker, citrus fruits and glass bottles full of delicious cocktail blends, all labelled as different ‘creative juices’; or ‘The Little Book of Creativity’ we discovered by the phone, full of inspirational quotes and illustrations. There’s even a rubber duck in the modish monochrome bathroom next to your REN toiletries.

If you can bring yourself to leave your room, then grab a bite to eat in the chic bistro-style restaurant serving up delicious (and sustainably sourced) food from an exciting menu, stop by the bar & lounge on the 2nd floor for a quick bite to eat or a delicious cocktail, sip on a fruity glass of fizz in the Bellini Bar & Lounge, or recline in the Martini Lounge late into the evening.

The Hospital Club has gone through many transformations since it was first built back in the late 1800s, but its current decade as a trendy boutique bolthole is by far its best yet. A center of creativity in central London, you’d struggle to find a more comfortable – or well-designed – place to rest your head.

President Obama Won’t Back Down on Discussing Gay Rights During Kenya Visit

President Obama Won’t Back Down on Discussing Gay Rights During Kenya Visit

The White House is ignoring threats from Kenyan House Speaker Justin Muturi that President Obama will be blocked from speaking about gay rights during his upcoming visit there, the Washington Blade reports.

Justin Muturi KenyaIt is not even aware of them, according to White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest:

“Obviously, we have been clear that when the president travels around the world, he does not hesitate to raise concerns about human rights. And that’s been true when he’s traveled to places like China, it’ll be true tomorrow when he meets with the general secretary of Vietnam, and I’m confident the president will not hesitate to make clear the protection of basic human rights in Kenya is also a priority consistent with the values that we hold dear here in the United States of America.”

Muturi’s remarks came as part of a rising political voice against LGBT rights in the country which includes a call from Deputy Kenyan President William Ruto for activists to leave the country and a twitter campaign by anti-gay and religious activists using the hashtag #KenyansMessageToObama.

We have pressing matters, things that matter to Kenyans lives. Keep your gay agenda to yourself, Kenya’s want business #KenyansMessageToObama

4 dishes to prove that apples taste good with virtually anything

4 dishes to prove that apples taste good with virtually anything

Apples are one of the best-loved fruit, not just in the UK but probably around the world – they’re juicy, sweet and can easily be eaten on the go.

Most people think they’re a no frills kind of fruit, and most recipes involving apple are: bake them into pies, flavor cocktails with them or add them to a meat-based dish to give it another layer.

But as simple as an apple seems, there’s a lot you’re missing out on if you think pairing apple and cheese is the limit – Pink Lady® apples are all-round talents and nicely compliment even adventurous flavors.

So, next time you’re cooking, why not go with some more unusual combinations?

To help you decide what to try first, we have collected our favorite combinations which won’t just leave you feeling surprised but also take no more than 40 minutes to prepare and cook – each one is an absolute winner!

First-class taste and a bit of crunch - the combination apple, broccoli and horseradish is a very satisfying one.

Ticking all the boxes: broccoli, horseradish and apple make for a satisfying salad.

Tenderstem®, horseradish, Pink Lady® apple and toasted hazelnut salad

Apple and nut may be a familiar combination (and a very nice one, too) – but combining it with Tenderstem® and horseradish turns this salad into an absolute game changer.

A horseradish-based dressing gives the salad a zingy, fiery kick while crisp broccoli adds an amazing dash of color, going well with its subtle, earthy flavor.

Finished with thin slices of Pink Lady® apples and crushed walnuts – and served while hot – this summer favorite doesn’t just surprise in terms of flavor but also clocks some extra point for texture.

Sour Tamarind, sweet apple and chili - if that doesn't get your mouth watering, we don't know what will.

Sour Tamarind, sweet apple and chili – if that doesn’t get your mouth watering, we don’t know what will.

Hot and sour Pink Lady® apple and prawn stir fry

I love a bit of chili, but truth be told I never considered pairing it with apple before.

Yet it makes sense – the apple balances out the spice and gives it some depth instead of just leaving you with a fiery sensation that may end up overpowering the whole dish.

Tamarind past adds a sourness, which works well enough with fiery chili already, but add in a Pink Lady® apple, cut into strips, and its subtle sweetness will give the dish that extra oomph!

Check out the detailed recipe here.

Don't believe cheese, anchovies, capers and apple can play nice together? This will prove you wrong.

Cheese, anchovies, capers and apple play very nice together, indeed.

Grilled halloumi and Pink Lady® apple wedges with caper, anchovy and herb dressing

Yes, anchovies and capers are strong tastes and mixing them together may fill you with doubt, but do believe me when I say they enhance rather than overpower everything else.

The lovely, creamy base of halloumi cheese works a charm in bringing out all the flavors – including its own – and turning it into a refreshing rather than a heavy dish.

A real winner on a hot day, this recipe combines creamy, sweet, sharp and salty and is a guaranteed to wow not just yourself, but any guests you may have over.

Sugar, spice and everything nice - we're having seconds, please.

Sugar, spice and everything nice – we’re having seconds, please.

Baked Pink Lady® apple

If this makes you think of Christmas and days spent in front of the fireplace (or snuggled up under a blanket) – think again, because baked apples aren’t always about marzipan filling, cinnamon and sugar.

Transform it into a year-round dish by stepping away from the warm spices and adding pink peppercorns instead – their spice is a bit cooler, but equally as exciting.

Cranberries and currants give it some zing, while candied peel, brown sugar and Cointreau add to the apple’s natural, fruity sweetness; adding white whine, apple juice or water to the baking dish prevents your dessert from growing dry.

Polygamy Just Around The Corner, Christian Blogger Fears

Polygamy Just Around The Corner, Christian Blogger Fears

Screen shot 2015-07-06 at 4.12.50 PM“Thanks to the Supreme Court ruling on gay marriage,” blogger Rick Jensen writes in a new op-ed published by GOPUSA, “the legality of polygamy will go to the Supreme Court and polygamists will win.”

Of course, before that can happen the polygamists first have lose in the lower courts, then petition the U.S. Supreme Court, which has to agree to hear their case. As of right now, there don’t appear to be any polygamists in the process of doing this.

Yet Jensen believes it’s only a matter of time before it happens. And when it does, our great nation will be doomed.

Related: CA Woman Predicts Marriage Equality Will Lead To Polygamy, Atomic War, Hunger And Moon Colonies

“Historically, polygamy has violently disrupted societal growth,” Jensen writes, “directly leading to crime, riots and eventual banning of the practice.”

He goes on to say that “researchers” (though he doesn’t cite which ones) have found that societies where polygamy is legal “produce more rapes, crimes of theft and a decidedly unhappy population of middle and lower income males who find a lack of compatible female mates due to their wealthy male competitors marrying the most attractive of the species.”

In other words: Female specimens only exist to keep males happy and for $$$, so when males act out, it’s the females who are to blame.

All of this, Jensen believes, is the result of a secret mission launched by the gays and the media to disrupt “the long-term success” of the “marriage system” and to abolish Christianity altogether.

Related: “Masturbation Will Make Me Turn Gay” And 40 More Wacky Lies From The Mormon Church

“Christianity has been successfully redefined in popular culture by western secularists and the media as a religion of hate,” he writes, “so if Christians promote a standard, it’s hateful and must be repealed. Gay marriage and limiting adoption to heterosexuals are the two most outstanding examples.”

Christian men should be especially worried about polygamy becoming the law of the land, Jensen says, because “[i]nstead of just one wife to ‘educate’ you to your personal flaws, you’ll have The Wives Team one at a time and then en masse.”

He adds: “That, plus the inevitable, ‘Does wife Rebecca’s butt look better in her jeans than mine?’”

Jensen seems to forget one key thing: Even if polygamy were to be made legal in the United States, Christian men and women would not be forced to enter plural marriages.

Evidently, that’s one too many thoughts for his brain to compute.
