Ready for a Tom of Finland emoji? Because it’s ready for you.

Ready for a Tom of Finland emoji? Because it’s ready for you.

The work of Tom of Finland has been enjoying quite the resurgence lately.

Two months ago, DJ Hell released a video for his track “I Want U” featuring Tom of Finland artwork. (Don’t check it out at work unless your boss is down with public sex and light bondage.)

And now, celebrating the fact that same-sex marriage will be legalized on March 1st, the country is published their own set of national emojis — which includes the one above. (Finland is clearly not America.)

You can download the emoji off the official Finland website, which describe it in glowing terms:

Boy, have times changed since Tom of Finland (Touko Laaksonen, 1920–1991) first published his homoerotic drawings in the 1950s. The artist made, and continues to make, a significant contribution to the advancement of human rights, advocating for tolerance, respect and freedom.

This is happening on the heels of an upcoming film about Tom of Finland.

Directed by Dome Karukoski, the biopic prods deeply into the life of Touko Laaksonen, who you better know as, righto, Tom of Finland.
